As much as we hate to see summer end, we're always thrilled that the transition into September and October means the return of our favorite shows. And just last week, the big news broke that one of our favorites, The Drew Barrymore Show, officially has a return date for its newest season.
The E.T. movie alum took to Instagram in an all-yellow ensemble to share the premiere date for season 5 of her talk show The Drew Barrymore Show. The post, which started with, "✨It’s all happening! ✨ . . ." revealed that the daytime talk show will be returning on Monday, September 9.
This news comes shortly after the announcement that the show has already secured a renewal for season 6, which means the show will run through at least 2026. Naturally, fans of the Never Been Kissed star were thrilled to finally get the official date they can expect to see the bubbly beauty return to their screens during weekday afternoons.
“Let the Drew magic begin.. can’t wait!!” one fan wrote under the post. "Adorable new promo pic! 💛💛💛 we can’t wait!" another said "5!!! Let’s do this!!!!! 💛🥰" someone else chimed in. "My fav talk show! Cannot wait 👏," a different fan said. One person commented, "WOOOHOOOO🙌👏."
And the fans aren't the only ones who love tuning in to watch her weekdays at 3 p.m. EST. According to Variety, Wendy McMahon, CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, praised Drew Barrymore's talent when she announced the show's renewal through season 26.
"Drew is a one-of-a-kind talent who is an integral part of the CBS and Paramount family,” Wendy said. “This early renewal and upgrades are a testament to our commitment to The Drew Barrymore Show and its loyal audience, who tune in every day to see Drew’s warmth, inquisitiveness and spontaneity.”
