The 2024 Paris Paralympics Opening Ceremony will air on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 starting at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Highlights from the opening ceremony will also be featured in primetime coverage on Friday, August 30 at 9 p.m. ET on both platforms.

The welcome celebration for the Paralympics will be held on the Champs-Élysées at the Place de la Concorde in Paris. This will also look a little different than other Paralympics opening ceremonies in the past, as this will be the first one not held in a traditional stadium.

With the ceremony being open to spectators, folks will watch a parade involving 6,000 athletes from 184 delegations celebrating their love of sports. Along with the lighting of the Paralympic cauldron, viewers can watch four-time wheelchair basketball Paralympian Steve Serio and 2016 Rio Paralympic sitting volleyball gold medalist Nicky Nieves as Team USA's Opening Ceremony flag bearers.

As for who will be hosting the 2024 Paralympics Opening Ceremony, NBC Sports host Ahmed Fareed will be emceeing the the TV coverage for fans, alongside 13-time Paralympic medalist Chris Waddell.

The 2024 Paris Paralympics Closing Ceremony will air on Sunday. September 8, 2024 starting at 2 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Just like the 2024 Paris Olympics, the closing ceremony will take place at France's national stadium, the Stade de France. Once again celebrating the unified love of all things athleticism, the Paralympics closing ceremony will mark the end of this era with a huge party. Billboard writes the celebration will highlight the French electro music scene, with a number of French artists singing and DJ'ing their way in style.

What's more, sports fans will also see a preview of what's to come in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. The next host city will share what viewers could expect, with an exciting preview.

For those who speak Spanish, Telemundo will present two one-hour specials on Sunday, September 1 at 11 a.m. ET, and Monday, September 9 at 12 p.m. ET. This will not only show highlights from the Games across the board, they also will highlight the Hispanic competitors participating for Team USA and other countries.

If you don't have a TV or access to cable, there are live-streaming websites that viewers can watch the Paralympics on as well. FuboTV, YouTube TV, Sling and Hulu + Live TV are all great options, but you will have to sign up for a subscription in order to watch the games as they occur live.
