It's official, Days of Our Lives fans: Sami Brady is officially back in Salem.

The hit character was introduced on the longtime soap opera back in October 1984, and Alison Sweeney has portrayed the role since January 1993. While the current Hallmark actress eventually left the show in 2014, she has returned for various appearances over the years.

Well, it looks like Alison is stepping back into Sami's shoes, as she revealed on Instagram that she's reprising the fan-loved role on Days of Our Lives in new episodes that will stream on Peacock beginning in 2025. What's more, she's already filming as the photo uploaded on social media featured her standing in front of what appeared to be her dressing room door.

"Sami is back in Salem?!?!" read the caption on August 6.

When viewers caught the news of Alison returning to Days of Our Lives, they immediately shared their excited reactions in the comments.

"This is my favorite news today! #teamsami," one person wrote. "Uh oh! 🤪 Sami only comes back for one reason. To cause TROUBLE. And I’m here for it!! 👏," another implied. "❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌 I am so excited that Sami is back in Salem. Excellent cannot wait to see you!" a different follower added.

Although details behind Alison's return to Days of Our Lives are being kept under wraps, she did talk to TV Insider about her elation over coming back to Salem and playing Sami once again.

"I was thrilled to be invited to return," she told the outlet the day the news broke. "I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back. We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I’m so glad to make it happen."
