In a twist only eagle-eyed fans saw coming, Christina and Josh Hall are getting a divorce. The former couple filed for a dissolution of marriage due to “irreconcilable differences” on July 15, according to paperwork obtained by TMZ. While they have yet to release public statements on the matter, a source told People that the pair “had issues in the marriage for quite some time."
In Josh’s filing, he’s seeking alimony and wants the court to "eliminate" Christina's "ability to collect from him." He also asked the court to "grant him all rights to any HGTV and/or Discovery Network shows or specials they produced during their marriage," per TMZ, which has left fans wondering about the fate of their upcoming show The Flip Off.
The Christina on the Coast star is fresh off of a slew of promos for the HGTV show that’s set to premiere in 2025. It’s meant to star her alongside Josh as they battle her ex-husband and Flip or Flip costar Tarek El Moussa along with his wife, Selling Sunset star Heather El Moussa.
According to E! News, Christina is not seeking spousal support and requests “to end the court’s ability to award support to either of them.” The outlet also notes that Christina “expressed her desire to have her last name restored to Haack,” which is her maiden name.
The documents also revealed that the pair officially tied the knot in October 2021. As a refresher, that’s six months before the couple announced their union on social media (circa April 2022) and one month after announcing their engagement. They started dating in early 2021, before Christina's divorce with Ant Anstead was finalized in June of 2021. (Here's a full timeline of her relationships if you're having trouble keeping up.)
Prior to the pair's date of separation—which is noted as July 7, just two days before Christina's birthday—Christina spoke to E! News about how they keep their romance alive. “Just trying to keep communication open,” she said. “And then just having the alone time when we can—whether it’s date night, going on little trips, just things like that.”
When asked about her hopes for the upcoming year, she added: "I just want peace... I need things to be more peaceful and calm and just want to be more present and, overall, less chaos, less drama."
