Glen Powell is having an epic summer, and it looks like the Today show wants to capitalize on it! Well, sort of ...
The actor was on the NBC morning show on July 17 to promote his new movie Twisters, and he sat for an interview with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager for their fourth hour segment. The conversation quickly turned to a hilarious tale about Jenna messaging Glen on Instagram to try and get his number, and Hoda chose to humorously expose her for the surprise action.
"You were active on Instagram, because, you know, you can tell when someone's active," Hoda told Glen in a clip posted on TikTok, to Jenna's chagrin. "So, Jenna said that she wanted to DM you to see if you would give her your phone number. So then she DM'd you when you were 'active' on Insta, and she waited patiently for hours and hours. She checked before she went to bed — I think you were active again. And she looked at her phone and she got no number."
As Jenna tried to get Hoda to stop revealing more of the story, Glen sat there completely surprised by this. What's more, when he responded how he actually responded back to the request, Jenna had to explain the reason why she did so in the first place.
"I sent you my number!" Glen exclaimed.
"I know you did!" Jenna replied. "First of all, Glen, I do whatever anybody ever asks me, and I'm trying to work on my impulsivity. They asked me to ask you for your phone so we could FaceTime you on the show. They were setting me up to set you up ... Last night, I was like, 'I can't believe I harassed him in his DMs for his number because they told me to!'"
"No, you were thinking, 'Why didn't he DM me back?'" Hoda interjected with laughter.
Upon seeing the entire exchange go down, folks couldn't stop cracking up over Hoda and Jenna's banter in the comments.
"Not Hoda giving too many details 😂," one person wrote. "I love just how much Jenna and Hoda dime each other out 😂 these are great friends 😆," another penned. "Glen is like what is this sorcery 💀," a different follower added.
Well, if anyone knows how to throw Glen off his game, it looks like it's Jenna Bush Hager!
