Erin Napier finally gave fans what we've all been waiting for over the past seven years: her updated makeup and skincare routine! The Home Town star didn't leave out a single detail when describing how she achieves her camera-ready look and keeps her almost-40 skin looking youthful and flawless.
In her signature down-to-earth fashion, Erin keeps it simple, but one of her tried and true products is somewhat controversial in the world of skincare.
"hi! i’m 38, turning 39 in august. My skin has become super inconsistent in the last couple of years but some of y’all believe I have great skin. It’s been about 7 years since I shared a skin care / makeup routine so I’ll give an update today for those of you who are regular tired mama with hormonal almost 40 skin. It’s not fancy. But there’s one very important new step that is especially helpful when you’re photographed daily for your job. Here we go!," Erin wrote on her Instagram story before sharing her step-by-step routine.
We're here to breakdown Erin's routine, including all of the products she swears by.
Erin Napier's Skincare Routine
First things first, Erin revealed her go to face cleanser. She begins her routine with the St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. The product has faced scrutiny due to its physical exfoliant properties in the past, but who are we to question Erin's wisdom?
Once a week, Erin follows up her cleanser with the Tatcha The Rice Polish Calming Enzyme Powder. She uses this product sparingly "because it's expensive."
Step two of her skincare routine includes an affordable favorite: the Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides. Not only is this moisturizer affordable, it's also safe for sensitive skin! Of course, not skincare routine would be complete without a quality sunscreen. Erin uses a Korean Birch Juice moisturizing sunscreen from Round Lab, a solid choice. Korea is known to have more advanced sunscreen filters than the United States, and thus their sunscreen brands are generally superior.
Erin Napier's Makeup Routine
After establishing a fresh base with her skincare, Erin moves in with makeup to banish under eye bags and create a natural finish. Her under-eye routine is the most involved, starting with the Pixie Correction Concentrate. "ONLY pat it into the dark circles," she explains.
Next, she applies "one swipe" of the Tarte Shape Tape Glow Wand in the shade Sunbeam "under the hollows" of her eyes. A third concealer, Natasha Denona's Hy-Glam formula, completes the look. She applies the Hy-Glam concealer to her under eyes and spot conceals any blemishes.
After concealer, Erin moves on to the most important step in her routine. "Now here’s the new and most important step with under eye fine lines and creases creepin up," she says. She bakes under her eyes with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, using a pointy makeup sponge. "Cake this on (I mean really) with a damp sponge ONLY on the under eye creases," she instructs. "Do the rest of your routine while it sits and 'bakes' into your skin."
To add some color back to her face, Erin goes in with the Tarte Sugar Rush Baked Bronzer and the Clinque Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in the shade Robust Rhubarb, before moving on to eye makeup.
Erin fills in her brows using the Anatasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Taupe and adds a thin liner on her top lid using the Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Liquid Liner. She uses the classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Brownish Black, which she says has been "doin us right since 9th grade," to complete her eye look.
Before moving on, Erin brushes away the excess powder under her eyes and then applies the Becca Champagne Pop highlighter on her cheekbones and "a dot at the inside corner" of her eyes. Last but not least, Erin applies the glossy Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip in the shade strawberry as her go-to lip product.
Signing off, Erin shared a photo of her completed makeup look admitting she is prone to "skip the eyeliner" on days when she's not filming.
It may be another seven years before we get a new makeup and skincare routine from Erin Napier, so enjoy this glimpse into Erin's day-to-day life while you can!
