Just one month after Pat Sajak retired as the host of Wheel of Fortune, it looks like he'll be back on the air to spin the wheel once again.
In a surprise announcement made by ABC on July 10, folks of the hit game show learned the former longtime host will return to emcee the upcoming season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
The network posted an Instagram photo of Pat alongside Vanna White, featuring the famed puzzleboard spelling out the words "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune returns." If that wasn't enough, the announcement also revealed the latest season is set to air starting Monday, October 7, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET.
"It’s the final spin for Pat Sajak as host when @celebritywheeloffortune premieres October 7 at 8/7c on ABC," read the official caption. "Stream on Hulu."
Given how Pat officially stepped down from his decades-long gig at the end of this season, with Ryan Seacrest set to take over as host in the fall of 2024, fans were ecstatic to see him back at the hosting podium.
"PAT’S STILL GOT SOME WHEEL LEFT IN HIM YAAAAAS!!! Now to become a celebrity before he retires from CWOF ... 😂," one person wrote in the comments. "Holy cow, we got one more time with the Sajak, but in prime time," another replied. "It will be nice to see Pat one last time! I can’t wait! 🔥," a different follower exclaimed.
Needless to say, this was news about Pat no one saw coming! But that's not all Pat has in the works, as Variety reported in early June he'll be starring in a production of the 1962 play Prescription: Murder during the summer of 2025. This will take the former TV host all the way to Honolulu, Hawai'i, where he'll star alongside his friend and longtime KHON-TV Hawai'i newscaster Joe Moore.
We're marking our calendars for all of this!
