It's been over a decade since Bethany Joy Lenz and James Lafferty starred together on One Tree Hill as Haley James and Nathan Scott, but it sounds like Bethany has thoughts on how the two could possibly reunite onscreen.
The actress' Hallmark film Savoring Paris debuted as part of the network's "Passport to Love" movie event on June 8, less than a year after she starred in the network's Christmas film A Biltmore Christmas. When speaking with TV Insider in an article published on June 11, the subject of Bethany sharing the screen with James came up as a possibility. While Bethany said she'd love to star alongside her former TV husband for a new Hallmark movie, she specified that the project would need to be something both of them are on board for.
"I think me and James doing a movie would probably be a super winner," she told the outlet. "But we’d have to find exactly the right one because that’s a big deal. It’s got to be a really good one. He’s doing so well. He’s got his show, Everyone Is Doing Great, and it’s brilliant. He’s just doing so well that I think it would be fun all these years later to do something together. We’ll see."
As fans remember, Bethany and James starred on One Tree Hill from the first episode (which aired in September 2003) through the show's ninth season which ended in April 2012. The duo's characters Haley and Nathan remained a couple throughout the show's almost decade-long run, from getting married while still in high school to eventually raising a son and daughter as Nathan played for the NBA and Haley became a musician.
While Bethany and James haven't been seen on TV together since One Tree Hill ended, both actors have reunited with former co-stars for various projects.
James works with Stephen Colletti (who played Chase Adams) on Everyone Is Doing Great, while Bethany hosts the Drama Queens podcast along with Hilarie Burton (who portrayed Peyton Sawyer) and Sophia Bush (who portrayed Brooke Davis).
Well, if Bethany and James are both game for a Hallmark movie reunion, you bet we'll be on the lookout for a potential announcement!
