The strikes taking over Hollywood have just concluded, and The Rookie fans will be completely ecstatic by what Eric Winter just shared about the status of new episodes.

Fans of the procedural drama are already aware that ABC renewed the show for season 6, but both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) caused production on the latest installment to stall indefinitely. After the WGA struck their deal in late September and SAG-AFTRA agreed to a tentative agreement on November 8, The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley gave viewers a first look at the new installment by posting a photo of the season 6 premiere script on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Shortly after Alexi's post, Eric (who's played LAPD officer Tim Bradford since the pilot) reposted the photo, which had fans going off in the comments section. "🔥🔥🔥🔥," he wrote two days on November 10. "Let’s go @therookie fam! #therookie."

"OMG ERIC HI WELCOME BACK WE'RE SOOO READY FOR YOU GUYS SEASON 6 LET'S GOOO AHHHH!!!" one person wrote on X. "So excited for [season] 6 especially what’s next for #Chenford. Miss Metro Tim!" another declared, referencing his character's relationship with former rookie-turned-girlfriend Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil). "Can't wait to have you all back on screen!! I miss you," a different viewer rejoiced.

Despite the reaction from fans about The Rookie season 6 being officially in the works, it may still be some time before the new episodes hit the airwaves on ABC. According to Deadline, TV actors can start heading back to work as early as late November. But with the holiday season coming up in the next few weeks, it'll still be some time before production and filming could officially begin.

Either way, we're ready to head back to Mid-Wilshire very soon!
