For the last six years, fans of Good Morning America have been delighted to see Michael Strahan sit at the table to deliver some of the top news stories of the day. While he's also famous for doing a number of other projects (like being the host of The $10,000 Pyramid), he certainly shocked fans when he made a major announcement about a new gig he's doing for TV.
In an announcement made by the morning show on October 3, it was revealed that the former NFL player would be swapping coasts for a guest judge appearance on Dancing With the Stars season 32. Uploading the news on Instagram, the show further disclosed that Michael will be sitting alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli for the show's Motown night on October 10.
"@michaelstrahan to guest judge on @DancingWiththeStars Motown night!" read the official caption.
While many fans were elated to learn of the news anchor's career update, it may cause some to wonder about his current status on GMA. After all, he has stepped back over the last few months to work on his side projects, including expanding his Michael Strahan lifestyle brand. Luckily, we have some answers, and folks will be thrilled by what we learned.
Is Michael Strahan leaving Good Morning America?
While Michael may be taking sporadic times off from filming Good Morning America, it doesn't seem like he plans on leaving the daytime series anytime soon.
Despite making sure his followers know about spending time away from television, his Instagram certainly makes it look like he's planning on staying. As Michael posted a new reel on the platform on October 4, he showed off his interviewing skills with his enlightening conversation with former Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell-Horner about her new children's book.
Although this shows his dedication to his 9-5 job, it doesn't mean Michael won't be indulging in other business ventures. As he shared with his fanbase on Instagram on September 27, season 7 of The $10,000 Pyramid is currently underway with new episodes airing every week.
"You all asked for it, so you all shall receive," read the caption. "SEASON 7 of @pyramidabc starts TONIGHT with your host @MichaelStrahan!! 10/9c on ABC!"
Needless to say, Michael's keeping busy ... but GMA definitely seems to be at the top of his ever-growing career list.
