After almost a quarter of a century on TV, Big Brother is celebrating some of the show's biggest moments.
When the reality series debuted on CBS in 2000, no one would've thought a show following a group of "house guests" 24/7 would become a massive hit. More than two decades later, the show's social team announced on Twitter plans to celebrate its success ahead of season 25 premiering in August. As for how they plan to highlight some memorable instances of Big Brother, an hour-long 25th anniversary special will air from Entertainment Tonight on July 26 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
"Calling all houseguests, it’s time to celebrate @CBSBigBrother!" read the tweet. "Join us for Big Brother’s 25th Anniversary Celebration: An @etnow Special, airing July 26th on CBS."
Because Big Brother built a loyal fanbase throughout its time on television, folks were ecstatic to learn that the series will go down memory lane. Unsurprisingly, they went to social media to share public elation over the surprising news.
"I can't wait!! 🙌❤️," one person wrote on Twitter. "My family and I can’t wait to watch Big Brother!" another replied. "I will be watching," a different follower responded.
As for what viewers can expect from the 25th anniversary special, Entertainment Weekly reported that the segment will feature footage from previous Big Brother seasons, past interviews with host Julie Chen Moonves and fan-favorite cast members. What's more, the spot will also give folks a sneak peek at what's to come for season 25.
Speaking of when Big Brother will start again, an official press release from CBS shared that there will be a 90-minute season premiere on August 2 on the network and Paramount+. Another statement further confirmed that new episodes will move to Tuesday nights and extend into the fall.
