Settle into your couch. Your favorite shrinks are in.

The therapy comedy Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Jason Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks, per Apple TV+’s description. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own. As the brainchild of Ted Lasso creators Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, the series is exactly what the doctor prescribed: equal parts heartwarming and heart-wrenching with touches of hilarious mania.

Following the Shrinking season 1 finale on March 24, minds are spinning about when to expect another therapy session. Chin up. We're breaking down all the details you need to know about Shrinking season 2:

Is there going to be a season 2 of Shrinking?

Schwing! Apple TV+ announced the series renewal earlier in March. “We have loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said in a statement.

He added: "We can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for season 2.”

Has a release date for Shrinking season 2 been released yet?

While there's no official date in the books yet, season 1 premiered on January 27, 2023, and Apple TV+ shows tend to have pretty cyclical dates. We can expect the next installment to hit the streaming service around the same time next year.

Until then, Shrinking fans can hit "save" at the top of this story and circle back later to this page once the streamer drops its official season 2 trailer and release date.

Do we know how many episodes are in Shrinking season 2?

The first season ordered 10 half-hour episodes. While we're not sure what exactly is ahead, similar Apple TV+ shows like Ted Lasso typically follow a 10-episode format per season.

Another similarity to the creators' other series, Jason, Bill and Brett told The Hollywood Reporter that they have a three-season arc planned for Shrinking's characters.

That said, fans of the dark comedy are wasting no time voicing their opinions about how the new hit show should proceed. When the streamer's official Instagram teased the season 1 finale, folks immediately took to the comments section with one particular demand.

"At least 20 episodes on the second season please!!!" one person wrote. "Don’t want it to end. It’s been brilliant don’t leave season 2 so long. ❤️," another added, referencing the release date. "No, no, no! I don‘t accept!" a different follower said about the season 1 finale.
