A new clip of an intimate moment between Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) has Law and Order: SVU fans flustered.

On October 10, the NBC show's official Instagram page posted a video in which Rollins tells Carisi that she loves him and Carisi returns the same sentiment. While it's a heartwarming clip from the long-running crime drama, folks were upset because it is making Kelli Giddish's upcoming departure that much harder.

Over the summer, Variety broke the news that the actress, who has been on the show for 12 years, is leaving Law and Order: SVU during current season 24. Now, seeing the romantic relationship between Rollins and Carisi evolve has fans up in arms.

Multiple Law and Order: SVU fans didn't hold back their anger about the couple's romance coming to an end soon.

"I'm just sorry Rollins is leaving now that their relationship is just getting started 😢😢," one person wrote in the comments section. "The fact that we will not be able to see them BLOSSOM breaks my heart… they deserve more… we deserve more!!" another added. "Y’all could have more of this.. but y’all fired Kelli when there was no reason to," a different fan said.

Others called out the show for not being sensitive about Kelli exiting the show while some requested a spinoff. "Why do I feel like you’re really intentionally rubbing salt into the wound? Once Kelli is gone, a lot of your fans are too. Sad," a follower commented."Make a spin-off of Rollins and Carisi, fans demand it ❤️‍🔥," someone else quipped.

Since the news broke, the Law and Order: SVU viewers have wondered how and when Kelli will leave the series. Now, there are some answers. According to multiple outlets, showrunner David Graziano indicated that episode nine, which airs on December 8, will be Kelli's last.

"It will be an honest exploration of sisterhood, chosen family, redemption and hope — with a storyline tailor-made for our two female powerhouses. Love will prevail for Rollisi, because I’m a romantic like that,” he wrote in an Instagram comment.

He previously revealed that the casting change also saddened him. When the character development was first revealed, a fan commented on his Instagram, "David I'm mourning," to which he replied, "Me too."

No word yet on how Rollins will be departing but the producers have confirmed that they will not be killing her off, bringing a little bit of relief to the worried fanbase. According to Give Me My Remote, Law and Order: SVU writer and executive producer Julie Martin also shared that #Rollisi fans don't have to worry too much about the couple.

"#Rollisi will have a happy ending," she tweeted. "Stay tuned."

There is also speculation that we could see Rollins make a return sooner than we think, with rumors that she'll be in a few episodes of Law and Order: Organized Crime later on in the season, according to Variety.

In spite of that news, it's still hard to think we'll be saying goodbye to a favorite on the show. But at least there is a positive ending to look forward to.
