With the summer soon coming to a close, Today show's Dylan Dreyer is taking advantage of vacation time. Like others, the NBC meteorologist went to the beach with husband Brian Fichera and their three boys: Calvin, Oliver and Russell. But in between sharing adorable family moments, it looks like the married couple may have gotten into potentially painful shenanigans.

The Today show co-host recently posted a video featuring her and the cameraman racing along the ocean to see who was fastest. As Dylan appeared to be zooming past him within the first few seconds, Brian quickly fell to the ground and seemingly hit his face hard into the sand.

"If you follow @fishlense perhaps you saw the video of him and me racing…and Brian winning," she captioned the July 27 post on Instagram. "THIS is the video of what happened the first race. Who’s the winner now???"

Ouch — poor Brian! Falling is never a fun way to lose. But to give further context, this isn't the first video Today fans have seen of this particular race. Over on the cameraman's official Instagram, he was not only OK after his unexpected tumble, but he eventually won another competition between the two.

Nonetheless, Today show fans were entertained by Brian and Dylan's beach antics, as they couldn't stop laughing at them in the comments section of the Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day author's post.

"I am dyinggggg," commented Today's weekend anchor Joelle Garguilo."10/10 for the face plant 🤣🤣," one fan cackled. "😂😂😂 I've watched this at least 10 times! 🤣🤣🤣," a different person said. And another follower had a perfectly logical explanation for Brian's fall in the sand: "I'll blame that on the skinny jeans & you're unable to lift your knees. Besides we can't win 'em all, especially competing against a beautiful woman. @fishlense."

Thankfully, Brian's OK and he was able to continue the family vacation as planned. But if he and Dylan wanted to share other races in the future, we'd be glad to be the judge of them.
