The Voice fans came to know and love Nick Jonas on seasons 18 and 20 of the NBC singing competition show. So, suffice to say, many were sad to see him go (even if it made space for the incredible Ariana Grande to take his place). But just because he left the show doesn’t mean that he’s ditched TV altogether.
At the end of March, the singer started teasing his latest project on Instagram before revealing that he officially joined the judging panel on Dancing With Myself. In case you haven't heard of NBC’s new dancing competition show, it revolves around teaching every day folks trendy choreography on the spot. Set to sit alongside fellow judges Liza Koshy and Shakira, Nick will be replacing Shaquille O’Neal who was originally slated for the show’s debut season. What's more, he will not only judge the performances but help create the dance challenges, too.
Given the fact that Nick is part of the infamous boy band, the Jonas Brothers, fans are excited to see the 29-year-old bring his dancing skills to the silver screen.
“OMG. We love it! 👏🔥,” one fan commented on his BTS Instagram post announcing the news. “So excited for this show! 🙌👏👏🔥🔥🔥,” someone else wrote. “I’M SO READY NICK,” another fan swooned.
As thrilled as fans are to see Nick joining a new competition series, this isn’t exactly new news. While he was hesitant to release the project he was working on, the "Jealous" vocalist took to Instagram multiple times in March to reveal his set outfits — which only left fans in anticipation of his big news.
“DAY ONE OF WHAT NICK ?????? WE NEED ANSWERS PLEASE,” one fan pleaded in the comments of one of his outfit posts.
Now that the cat’s officially out of the bag, though, fans can hardly contain their excitement — both for Nick’s new role and the stylish ‘fits he’s wearing to fill it.
Now, we just have to patiently wait for the official premiere date of the sure-to-be-entertaining show.
