The Masked Singer judge Nicole Scherzinger stunned fans with her recent Instagram post sharing her hair, makeup and outfit from the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
On March 31, the former Pussycat Dolls lead singer shared a collection of Instagram photos spotlight a floral two-piece matching set. The 43-year-old singer paired the look with a glowy pink lip and long beach wave. "Channeling Polynesian Warrior Goddess vibes 🌺," she captioned the pics.
Upon seeing Nicole's colorful summer outfit, celebrity friends and fans headed over to the comments section to rave about how incredible she looked. One fan wrote: "OMG YOU LOOK LIKE A HAWAIIAN GODDESS 🌺💖." Another added: "IM LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH THIS LOOK AND YOU, LIKE OMFGSBWNAJA." A different fan said: "IM TRYING SO HARD NOT TO SCREAM IN CLASS RN 😭🤣 ILYSM."
According to The Guardian, Nicole was born in Honolulu and is Filipino and Hawaiian-Ukrainian descent. The actress was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Nicole has shared her love of Hawai'i and her Hawaiian heritage with fans on Instagram over the years. For International Women's Day, Nicole posted a photo of her grandmother, mother and sister Ke'ala. In the picture, she poses with her grandmother and the two of them each wear a lei, which is a Hawaiian "token for welcome and farewell."
Throughout her career, Nicole has also highlighted her Polynesian heritage in interviews, on social media and through art. Most notably, Nicole voiced Sina in the Disney film Moana. Speaking at a Disney press conference, she opened up about what moved her to join the animated movie's cast.
"I didn’t want to be a part of the project. I felt I had to be a part of the project, and that’s because I’m from Hawaiian descent," she said, per Viva Veltoro. "I knew that the movie was gonna be about the Polynesian people and don’t think Disney ever really did a film like that."
Nicole continued: "I lived with my mother and my tutu, which means grandmother in Hawaiian. In our culture, the men are the head of the household, but the women are the backbone. They are everything. They are the strength. They keep it together."
