Savannah Guthrie is moving at a slower pace on the Today show set after she had a minor incident that left her with a small injury.

On March 31, the broadcast journalist posted Instagram photos of herself wearing grey fuzzy slippers instead of her usual heels during a segment of "Today Food" on the NBC morning show. One snapshot showed her foot propped up on a toilet with an ice bag.

“Sprained toe silver lining - doing the show in slippers. I may never go back,” the Starting from Scratch host captioned the gallery.

Over on her Instagram Stories, she reshared her post and added: “This little piggy cried all the way home … Anchoring in slippers izzzz niiiiiiice … Dr Quinn medicine woman. Thanks @kellymarieoneill for taping it up.”

After seeing on social media that Savannah suffered an injury, fans didn’t hesitate to reach out to her in the comments section with well wishes. “Hope you heal fast! ❤️,” one person wrote. “I feel your pain, @savannahguthrie 😢 I broke my pinky toe Monday morning! Crazy how’s something so small could be so painful 😣 Rest up and feel better soon 💛,” another added.

That said, some viewers kept asking about her fuzzy slippers and where they could buy a pair for themselves. For those wondering, the open-toe slippers appear to be available on Amazon in a dozen different colors.

So, what happened to Savannah’s foot? Today fans tuning in during the second hour may have heard what went down. The intel came when she couldn’t join her fellow Today show cohosts Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Al Roker and Carson Daly out in Rockefeller Plaza with the live audience.

“By the way if you’re wondering where Savannah is, she’s inside,” Hoda said. “She’s got her fuzzy slippers on and there’s a reason. She had an unfortunate little accident last night. She thinks she broke her toe.”

Savannah then explained that she bumped into something presumably while at home and the pain hadn’t subsided by the time she came back to work. “I stubbed it so hard,” she said. “It might be broken. We literally taped it ourselves. It just hurts to walk. I can sit and stand.”

We’re wishing her a speedy recovery!
