Shaun White is enjoying retirement after announcing his departure from the professional snowboarding world during the Winter Olympics in February. Now, the three-time gold medalist might be trying to convince his girlfriend, actress and entrepreneur Nina Dobrev, to join him in the next chapter of his life.
It all began on March 14 when The Vampire Diaries star shared a photo on Instagram with her beau on the beach. In the pic, Nina wears a bright red bikini, square-shaped sunnies and a yellow-blue patterned headscarf. Meanwhile, Shaun stands by her side and smiles for the camera. The couple then share a kiss in the second snap. But it was Nina's caption that started an interesting conversation.
"S---, if this is what #RetiredLife looks like… should I retire too? 😜," she wrote.
Though the Redeeming Love cast member was jokingly alluding to the idea that she might also step away from the limelight, Shaun played along in her Instagram comments section. "Dooooooo it!! 👨🏻🦳👩🏻🦳," he wrote.
That said, Nina's friends didn't let the pair think too much about the possibility and quickly shut down the idea with funny messages. "Naw, we’re gonna need you to keep working -Hollywood," commented Pitch Perfect star Adam Devine. "Ok I’ll retire too," added actress Erin Foster.
Unsurprisingly, fans also had lots to say about the retirement discussion and collectively agreed that it wasn't Nina's time. "No girl, you got a lot of more movies to do lol," one person wrote. "No!! We will miss you on the screen too much!!" another added. "And on behalf of myself and everyone else: PLEASE DO NOT RETIRE YET," a different fan said.
Kidding aside, she's got a jam-packed schedule on-and off-screen. Most recently, she wrapped up several movie projects, including the drama The Out-Law, the comedy Sick Girl and the murder-mystery Reunion, according to her IMDB. What's more, Nina is also working on expanding her wine brand, Fresh Vine Wine, with her best friend, actress and dancer Julianne Hough.
We've got a feeling that while Shaun has been enjoying his time off, he also loves seeing Nina thrive in everything she does.
