Apart from hosting Jeopardy! and starring on The Chase, Ken Jennings is also a busy trivia wiz when he's away from the cameras. As it turns out, when he isn’t brainstorming his weekly Mental Floss quiz Kennections, the Seattle native is working on his next book, according to a recent subtle tweet.
Before kicking off the weekend, Ken let his Twitter followers in on a funny personal moment that happened to him recently — and in the process, he revealed that he’s started to write a new book. As folks may know, since Ken rose to fame as a Jeopardy! legend in 2004, he has written a whopping 12 books, including his New York Times bestselling trivia adventure book Brainiac.
“Doing revisions on my next book,” he posted on March 4. “Just got to a paragraph I privately thought was a little weak when I submitted the [manuscript] and was outraged to see the editor note that it's weak. The nerve!”
Reacting to his clever tweet, Ken’s fans shared a variety of thoughts in the comments section. Unsurprisingly, there were some whose ears instantly perked up at the mention of an upcoming release. “What's the book about? Excited!” one person wrote.
While many figured that Ken was just making light of an every day situation, several of his followers offered reassuring words in case he needed them. “Two great minds with one thought, though!!!!” someone commented. “Editors tell us truths we don't want to admit to ourselves,” another said.
After cementing himself in Jeopardy!’s history books with a historic 74-game winning streak, Ken made his debut as an author in 2006 with Brainiac. Since then, Ken has released a new book every few years intertwining trivia, science and culture: Ken Jennings’s Trivia Almanac (2008), Maphead (2011), Because I Said So! (2012) and Planet Funny (2018). What’s more, he created a series for children called Junior Genius that encourages kids to be curious about all sorts of topics.
So, what will Ken’s new book be about? There aren’t any details to go off just yet, but it could either be another installment to his Junior Genius series or a new book his Jeopardy! fans will be running to the stores to purchase. Hopefully, we'll find out soon.
