Nina Dobrev welcomed Shaun White back with open arms and a kiss … sort of.
After competing in his fifth and final Winter Olympics in Beijing, the three-time gold medalist said an emotional goodbye to the professional snowboarding world. Though it was bittersweet, Shaun returned home to Los Angeles just in time to spend Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend of nearly two years. Following an exciting Super Bowl Sunday, Shaun and Nina appeared to have a low-key celebration. But their silliness still raised some eyebrows.
"Nature finds a way …. Happy Valentine’s Day @Nina ❤️,” Shaun captioned a photo of them together. In the picture, he and Nina wear clear face shields meant to provide additional protection against COVID-19. Unlike the medical community, the couple didn’t pair them with face masks for optimal safety. Instead, Shaun and Nina went in for a kiss with the equipment on and well … it made for an interesting snap.
Upon seeing Shaun and Nina’s intimate photo, fans immediately flooded the comments section. On one hand, there were folks who reached out to Shaun with slight concern over his post-Winter Games life. “Shaun what is this?” one person wrote. “Shaun is retired and forgot how to act 😂😂😂,” a different fan said.
That said, others couldn’t stop raving over Shaun and Nina authentically showing off their humor on social media. “You guys are ridiculous and I am HERE FOR IT!!” a follower commented. “This s—t is funny!! Nina has rubbed off on you! Having fun at life, way to be! Love you guys! ❤️,” someone else wrote.
Over on her own Instagram, Nina also posted playful pictures. "Rose’s [sic.] are red violets are blue how great is it that I’m still not sick of you. I’m yours no refunds," she wrote to which Shaun replied back, "All sales are final 🤷🏻♂️😂❤️."
While Nina enjoys sharing carefree, fun content, Shaun likes to let fans see his lighthearted side too. During his trip abroad, the former Olympic athlete gave followers a glimpse of what he was up to when he wasn’t on his board. From decompressing with a face full of snow to eating tons of delicious food to pass the time, Shaun isn’t afraid to show who he is in real life.
By the look of things, he and Nina are on the same wavelength when it comes to being goofy.
