With Law and Order: Organized Crime season 5 coming to TVs very soon, you'd think there wouldn't be a major twist ... right? Well, it appears the show decided to drop some surprise news ahead of the season premiere that fans will want to pay attention to.

The popular procedural drama caused a stir in May 2024 when it was revealed that Law and Order: Organized Crime would move from NBC to Peacock for season 5. Now, fans will get to see Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) back in action starting on April 17 β€” and thanks to a new announcement from Variety, there will be more than one place to see the premiere episode.

According to the outlet, the season 5 premiere episode of Law and Organized Crime won't just air on Peacock. The first episode will air after a crossover event between Law and Order and Law and Order: SVU on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. But it's important to keep in mind that this is the only time Law and Order: Organized Crime will air new episodes on NBC. After the first episode, folks will have to tune in every week on Peacock to see what's happening with the Organized Crime Task Force of the NYPD.

But wait β€” there's more! Alongside the news of the season 5 premiere episode airing on NBC, Law and Order: Organized Crime also gave viewers a sneak peek at what's coming down the pipeline. In a teaser trailer posted on Instagram, folks get to see Stabler potentially go undercover as he seemingly gets caught up in the world of cross-border smuggling, domestic terrorism and a potential hit put out on Stabler for a past grievance he made in seasons past.

"Add it to the list of sins," the caption eerily read. "Law & Order: #OrganizedCrime arrives April 17 on Peacock."

Between the news of the season 5 premiere also airing on NBC and a new trailer, Law and Order: Organized Crime fans were naturally excited to see what's next.

"Stabler is so back πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯," one person wrote in the comments. "Stabler always been that man. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Protect him at all cost," another begged. "Yaaassss been waiting for this πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯," a different follower added.

Well, we'll be marking our calendars after learning all of this!
