Finding the right living room paint color can feel overwhelming. Not only are there hundreds of options, but you have to consider undertones and your home's lighting conditions. Keep in mind: The same shade can look completely different from morning to night. The color of your walls has a big impact on the overall energy of your space — especially in the living room where the right hue can improve your mood and ability to relax.

To help you find a favorite, we tapped interior designers for beautiful living room designs that highlight an array of popular paint colors — whether you prefer a timeless hue or a trending paint color. Unless you plan on painting your living room every few years, you'll want to choose something versatile, but that doesn't mean you can't experiment with bold color.

Ranging from light to dark, designers are loving cheerful greens, fresh blues and moody purples — even in small spaces. Play it safer with a muted tone — think light blue, blush pink or soft sage that evoke feelings of calm. Of course, there's nothing wrong with sticking to classic warm hues, like sandy beige, creamy white and rich brown, or cool tones, like bright white and classic gray.
