After the resounding success of the first season of Bridgerton, it's no surprise that season 2 broke records and became Netflix’s most-streamed English-language season of a TV series. Young Queen Charlotte and Young King George III
With the release of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story earlier this year, viewers saw Queen Charlotte and King George in a way they never have. Before she was picking the diamond of the season, Queen Charlotte was a young seventeen-year-old (played by India Ria Amarteifio) preparing for her arranged marriage to a young King George (Corey Mylcreest). The series follows the two young adults as they quickly go from enemies to lovers, and Bridgerton fans learn about their children, their life together and more about King George's health issues that are hinted at in the Bridgerton series. Although the two make for great individual costumes, this young Charlotte and George costume is the perfect couple's costume. Although she looks radiant next to her king, Queen Charlotte shines on her own throughout the series, thanks to her many stunning outfits. None is more memorable though than her wedding dress. Not only was it worn during a pivotal moment in the series but it's one of the first chances viewers see her transform from a young woman into a Queen, decked out in jewels, a large pale blue and white gown and, of course, that iconic tiara. Known for her humorous and fun-loving yet occasionally stern approach to life, Lady Danbury has always been a Bridgerton fan favorite, especially since she's played large roles in getting both the main couples together in season 1 and season 2. But in the Queen Charlotte prequel, we see a shyer side of her as someone who was growing up when Queen Charlotte married and ascended the throne, and was forced to deal with an arranged marriage to a much older gentleman (Cyril Nri). From the beginning of the Bridgerton series, it was clear that Queen Charlotte and her servant Brimsley (Hugh Sachs) had a close bond with one another. In the prequel, we learn the two have been together since both were very young (while also learning more about the Brimsley and his time growing up). Dress up as the duo with a friend or use it as an opportunity to rock a unique couples costume. No need for an over-the-top heavy wig. After the death of her father King George II, Princess Augusta (Michelle Fairley) is very involved in royal life under the new reign of her son, King George III. Viewers are first introduced to her when young Queen Charlotte arrives at the palace prior to the her marriage. Her large, stylish outfits are representative of the power she wields and her ability to heavily influence the politics at the time even though she has never actually reigned or been Queen. Although fans were familiar with King George III (James Fleet) through his brief appearances in Bridgerton, we got to understand much more about the history of the King's marriage to Charlotte. Miss Sharma may not have been declared the Queen's diamond, but she quickly became a favorite as her cheeky wit and devoted love for her sister emerged more and more over the course of season 2. Although Kate had many memorable looks, like her purple bridesmaid dress at Edwina (Charithra Chandran)'s wedding, this deep teal and gold accented dress also stood out.
