Investing in a quality treadmill can feel daunting, but this single piece of equipment can be the perfect cardio machine to get you moving at home. Our fitness experts have been evaluating the best treadmills for nearly a decade and feel that the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is a solid choice that offers great tech capabilities and controls at a moderate pricepoint. Here's everything you need to know about the machine, including whether or not the iFIT subscription is truly worth it.

Delivery & Assembly

On average, items ship out of NordicTrack's warehouse within three to five business days, unless otherwise posted on the product page. Once the treadmill has been shipped, you should receive it within two to three weeks.

Standard curbside delivery is free but does not include assembly. I'm currently six months pregnant, so assembling the machine on my own was not an option, and I don't know if I would recommend it to begin with since the machine weighs a hefty 340 pounds. If you do plan to assemble the machine yourself, I'd suggest enlisting the help of a friend or two and also assembling it in the area where you plan to use it.

For an additional $199, you can opt for white glove service where the treadmill will be delivered to any room you choose and assembled by technicians. Our delivery was timely and the white glove service allowed for a smooth and clean experience and all packaging was hauled away. As always, ensure that the machine is fully functional and working properly before the technicians leave your home. We did have an issue with one part of the assembly and it took a while to get a customer service representative on the line to help us fix the issue, but ultimately they were able to guide us through it.

Dimensions

The overall footprint of the treadmill is 80” L x 38” W x 65” H — that means that it's quite large and similar to what you would find in a gym or fitness center. In general, I always say it is extra important to pay close attention to the dimensions of your treadmill so it’s guaranteed to fit your space. Measure for at least a foot of clearance above your height on the treadmill to the ceiling to accommodate for any incline features. You'll also want to ensure that you have ample room on either side of the machine if you plan to utilize iFIT and the treadmill's pivot screen (more on that later).

The running belt is 20" x 60", which is a substantial size that can accommodate for a variety of user heights and typically the width and length that I look for in a quality treadmill. Make sure that the length of the running track is at least 4 feet long. If you’re over 6 feet tall, then the belt size should be even longer — around 4.5 feet — since running on a belt that's too short for your body may put you at risk of injury. This treadmill also has a user capacity of 300 pounds which isn't the highest we have seen but still makes for a durable build.

One nice feature on this model is that it folds — even at six months pregnant, I found it very easy to fold the machine and the folding mechanism is quite intuitive. You'll essentially lift the deck of the treadmill, and then it will lock into place. This can be a game-changer for saving space and storing other fitness equipment when the treadmill is not in use. The deck slowly lowers at the end as you unfold it which is a nice safety feature.

Incline, Decline & Speed

The controls for incline and speed are on either side of the large screen. We have tested other treadmill models with more convenient placement for controls, but these worked fine and we found them fairly intuitive to use. Incline and speed adjust with just one tap.

One extra special feature on this treadmill is that you can go up to a 12% incline and even down to a -3% decline to mimic real outdoor terrain. Plus, speeds range from 0 to 12 MPH which is a great range for both novice and advanced runners. The running belt felt solid and the transitions for both incline, decline and speed were relatively smooth. This treadmill also boasts a 3.5 CHP Motor, meaning it's designed for continuous and repeated heavy use.

Comfort & Convenience

Two water bottle holders are conveniently placed and come in handy for those longer runs, and the AutoBreeze fan did a great job of keeping us cool during our workouts. There is an integrated tray as well to put your smartphone, headphones and any other items you may need to keep with you during your run. If you don't want to utilize the touchscreen, this machine also has a tablet holder so you can stream your favorite shows and movies.

In terms of comfort, NordicTrack also offers a Runners Flex option on this machine, which allows you to soften the impact on your joints by turning on the treadmill's cushioning. This feature came in handy for me, especially at this point in my pregnancy. Alternatively, you can turn it off for a more real-terrain feel.

iFIT & Special Features

Sometimes, it can take a little extra push to keep you consistent with at-home workouts. As a certified fitness professional myself, I always feel it's best to get some sort of guidance from a skilled fitness pro since it can be easy to fall prone to injury when exercising at home. Treadmills with built-in programming come at a premium, but can be just what you need to hold yourself accountable and guide you through a consistent exercise program in a safe manner.

Personally, I'm a fan of iFIT, the built-in platform that this treadmill and NordicTrack products offer. The quality of the classes are what really stand out. The trainers are encouraging, motivating and knowledgable — it's like having a personal trainer in the comfort of your home. The platform even allows your trainer to adjust your incline, decline and speed too, so you can just get on and run. Plus, many of the iFIT workouts are filmed in beautiful locations worldwide that make your workout feel extra special. You can turn up the music and turn down the instructor too if you want to fully get in the zone during your workout. But if you're not sold on iFIT, your purchase does include a 30-day trial so you can give it a spin.

If you're not looking for class content, then the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is likely not worth the price, although you can run on this treadmill without having to pay for the iFIT membership. The platform does offer classes for all fitness levels which is great, and even allows you to create a custom route using Google Maps so you can mimic your everyday routes with detailed Street View images.

The 14-inch smart HD touchscreen isn't the largest we've seen, but is substantial enough and provides a more immersive experience than working out with your phone or tablet. The screen itself is easy to use and tilts and pivots, so you can compliment your running workouts with strength training classes, yoga content and more to create a well-rounded fitness program. All of your stats including distance, speed, calories and more are displayed at the top of the screen and easy to track during your workout. Even the speakers felt good quality, but the treadmill offers Bluetooth capabilities as well.

Financing & Warranty

The treadmill costs $2,499 (currently on sale for $1,999), but can be financed for $52/month at 0.00% APR for 39 months with equal payments. In comparison, high-end models like the Peloton Tread+ cost nearly three times this amount, whereas more entry-level models with less features can come in at around half this price.

NordicTrack offers a 10-year warranty on the frame, a two-year warranty on parts and a one-year warranty on labor for the Commercial 1750 (not the best we have seen, and for the price, we wish the warranty was longer on the parts). Currently, the treadmill comes with a free 30-day iFIT trial that will auto renew at $39/month ($468 annually) but this does include up to five users so if family members plan to use the treadmill, it can be really worth it. If you upgrade to a one-, two- or three-year iFIT membership, you'll save more.

Is the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Worth it?

Coming in at just under $2.5K and boasting an impressive build and special features, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is a well-rounded machine that will be a great addition to any home gym. Access to iFIT allows for an immersive workout experience, gaining access to world-leading instructors and breathtaking scenic workouts, but comes at an additional cost. Ultimately, this treadmill is not worth it if you aren't looking for built-in class content. With its smooth ride, durable design and clear HD touchscreen, our experts say it's a treadmill you'll look forward to running on. We've only been testing this model for a short period of time though, and plan to report back on long-term use, but are confident that its built to last given our testing of other NordicTrack models over the years.
