For a unique spin on bar nuts, we’re giving candied pecans a decidedly savory, spicy twist. Worcestershire sauce, paprika and cayenne lend smokiness, while fresh rosemary adds a bright herbal element. Pecans are great for punching up your routine with plant-based nutrition, plus they taste great and go well with a wide variety of flavors. Serve this elevated snack as an appetizer or a cocktail accompaniment.

Ingredients

  • 1

    large egg white

  • 1/2 cup

    light brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp.

    smoked paprika

  • 1/2 Tbsp.

    Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp.

    cayenne

  • 1/2 tsp.

    ground cumin

  • 1 Tbsp.

    chopped fresh rosemary

  • 1/2 Tbsp.

    kosher salt

  • 3 cups

    pecan halves

Directions

    1. Step 1Heat oven to 300˚F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. 
    2. Step 2 In a large bowl, beat egg white until foamy. Add sugar, paprika, Worcestershire, cayenne, cumin, chopped rosemary and salt and mix to combine. Add pecans and toss to coat well.
    3. Step 3Arrange on prepared baking sheet in a single layer and bake, stirring halfway through, until toasted and dry, 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool before serving.
