End your day with a bowl of hearty classic spaghetti bolognese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb.

    spaghetti

  • 1

    medium onion

  • 3

    cloves garlic

  • 1 lb.

    ground beef chuck

  • 1

    28 oz. can crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2 oz.

    grated Pecorino cheese

  • 1/2 cup

    milk

  • basil leaves

Directions

    1. Step 1Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook 1 pound spaghetti as label directs. Meanwhile, make sauce.
    2. Step 2Chop 1 medium onion and 3 cloves garlic.
    3. Step 3Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in large saucepot. Add chopped onion, garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    4. Step 4Add 1 pound ground beef chuck to saucepot. Cook 5 minutes.
    5. Step 5Add 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
    6. Step 6Stir in 1/2 ounce grated Pecorino cheese, and 1/2 cup milk. Add spaghetti and toss until well combined.
    7. Step 7Serve with fresh basil and additional grated Pecorino, if desired.
