Ingredients

  • 8 oz.

    cream cheese (at room temperature)

  • 1/4 cup

    sour cream 

  • 1

    scallion (chopped)

  • 1 tsp.

    black and/or white sesame seeds

  • 1/2 tsp.

    poppy seeds

  • 1/8 tsp.

    garlic powder

  • 1/8 tsp.

    coarsely ground black pepper

  • Pumpernickel bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh dill, fresh chives, and smoked salmon, for serving

Directions

    1. Step 1In food processor, puree cream cheese with sour cream until very smooth.
    2. Step 2Add scallion, black and/or white sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and coarsely ground black pepper and pulse just to combine. (Can be made up to 1 day ahead. Remove from refrigerator half an hour before serving.)
    3. Step 3Transfer to bowl and top with additional scallions and seeds. Serve with pumpernickel bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped fresh chives, and smoked salmon if desired.
