Apple Pie Sorbet

Homemade Applesauce amped up with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a splash of lemon juice transforms into a delicious, scoopable frozen treat that rivals its namesake pie. Don’t forget the crumbled gingersnaps on top!

Ingredients
- 2 cups
Easy Homemade Applesauce or store-bought applesauce
- 1/4 cup
packed light brown sugar
- 2 tsp.
fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp.
ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp.
kosher salt
Gingersnaps, crumbled, for serving
Directions
- Step 1Prepare ice cream maker per manufacturer’s directions. In medium bowl, stir together applesauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours.
- Step 2When ready to churn, add applesauce mixture to ice cream maker and churn per manufacturer’s directions until mixture reaches consistency of soft-serve, about 25 minutes.
- Step 3For harder consistency, transfer sorbet to airtight container and freeze at least 2 hours.
- Step 4Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving. Scoop into bowls and top with crumbled gingersnaps if desired.
