Lemonade with Iced Tea Cubes

Keep your summer sipper chilled (and undiluted!) with frozen iced tea cubes that turn homemade lemonade into classic Arnold Palmers as they slowly melt into the drink. Make both components ahead, and you’re ready to impress guests (or throw together a refreshing pick-me-up for one) at a moment’s notice.

Ingredients

bags black tea
- 1 cup
sugar
- 1 1/2 cups
fresh lemon juice, plus lemon slices for serving
Fresh mint, for serving
Directions
- Step 1Bring 4 cups water to a boil in medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and let steep, stirring twice, 4 minutes. Discard tea bags and let tea cool.
- Step 2Divide tea among ice cube trays. Freeze until solid, at least 8 hours.
- Step 3Meanwhile, in small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and
simmer until sugar dissolves, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool. - Step 4In large pitcher, stir together lemon juice, cooled syrup, and 4 cups cold water. If it’s too tart, add 1 to 2 cups more cold water.
- Step 5Fill glasses with tea cubes and lemon slices, then top with lemonade. Serve with fresh mint if desired.
