Multi-cookers can handle so many culinary tasks — ranging from pressure-cooking and slow cooking to steaming, browning and more — that it's no wonder this type of countertop appliance has gained popularity. That said, if a multi-cooker has earned a place in your home, you'll want to check the model. More than one million Ninja Foodi multi-function pressure cookers have been recalled due to burn hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
On May 1, the agency announced that SharkNinja issued a recall to replace the lid of its Ninja-brand Foodi OP300-series Pressure Cookers/Tender Crisp Air Fryers after reports that the pressure-cooking lids can be opened while the cooker is pressurized, which is a hazard, resulting in burn injuries. Here's everything you need to know.
What products have been recalled?
SharkNinja announced a recall involving all its Ninja Foodi OP300-series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers/TenderCrisp Air Fryers, as well as any additional OP300 series replacement pressure cooker lids purchased separately. These were sold in nationwide in the U.S. and Canada from January 2019 through March 2025 at Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Amazon, Target and online.

What is the reason for the recall?
After receiving reports that the pressure-cooking lids can be opened while the cooker is pressurized, resulting in burn injuries from the hot contents, SharkNinja issued the recall. As to date, there have been 106 reports of burn injuries, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns to the face or body, and 26 lawsuits filed, according to the CPSC.
What should I do if I have the recalled product?
SharkNinja requests that you stop using your appliance's pressure-cooking function immediately and discard the pressure-cooking lid. Anyone with an affected unit can receive a free replacement pressure-cooking lid from SharkNinja by filling out this form. In the meantime, you can use the other functions of your appliance (e.g. steam, slow cooker, bake, dehydrate) until your new replacement lid arrives. There is no need to return your product to where you originally bought it; all replacements will be shipped to you.
