I'm a sweet coffee fan, so I really love the idea of a latte that doubles as dessert. Crème brûlée latte? Count me in. Hazelnut mocha frappe? Yes, I'm making that. So when I stumbled across the Rainbow Cookie Dunkalatte that is taking TikTok by storm, it had my full, undivided attention.

Dreamed up by content creator @rantwithrobert, this drink is an off-menu concoction leveling up Dunkin's signature latte (known as the Dunkalatte) with extra syrups — and based off the comments section, people are into it.

How to order the viral Dunkin' Rainbow Cookie Dunkalatte

In the TikTok, content creator @rantwithrobert shares exactly how to place your Dunkin' order. Ask for one medium Dunkin' iced latte (with whole milk) plus:

How I tried the viral Dunkin' Rainbow Cookie Dunkalatte

Because @rantwithrobert claims this tastes like a rainbow cookie, I knew I had to try the drink side-by-side with an actual rainbow cookie (tough job, I know!). I picked up a few rainbow cookies from my local bakery. Then, I went to Dunkin' to get my drink and followed the order exactly as written above.

The verdict

Coffee purists: this one isn't for you, okay? Cover your eyes. Personally, I love a little sweet coffee treat, so this drink is totally in my wheelhouse. That said, reading the fine print, I felt unsure about adding fruit to my coffee and hesitated at the amount of syrup — five pumps total for a medium latte. The cashier at Dunkin' even double-checked with me, "are you sure? That's going to be really, really sweet."

But, you know what else is sweet? An actual rainbow cookie. So, I proceeded.

First, I took a bite of the rainbow cookie to quickly refresh my memory — chocolatey, cake-y, a hint of almond, with notes of raspberry. Then, I gave the iced drink a quick shake to make sure the syrup really gets blended throughout and took my first sip. Does it taste like a rainbow cookie? Actually, yes. I get it! It definitely gives rainbow cookie vibes.

Side-by-side, this iced latte really is reminiscent of a rainbow cookie. It is very sweet. You've got hints of espresso somewhat mixed in, and a little of that almond extract flavor, and then the raspberry really hits. (That said, if you're used to rainbow cookies made with apricot preserves, you may not feel the same way).

Although, I wouldn't order this every day (I personally longed for the stronger coffee flavor that usually accompanies my latte), if you like something sweet, it's definitely a treat. My only suggestion would be taking down the syrup so it's just one pump of raspberry.

This adventure sent me down the TikTok rabbit hole that is Dunkin' secret menu drinks — and I realized I really need to start thinking outside my caramel-iced-coffee box. Now I'm inspired to switch up my coffee order more frequently. Perhaps I'll take a cue from other fan-favorite desserts? Stay tuned!
