- Criminal Minds: Evolution season 4 is in the works for Paramount+.
- Actress Paget Brewster went on X to share an update about filming.
- Fans had some questions after seeing Paget's news.
Criminal Minds: Evolution fans, Paget Brewster just gave us a surprise update about season 4, but not without a little scare.
Fans of the hit Paramount+ drama (which is a spinoff to the original Criminal Minds series) have been following the season's current status ever since filming began in July 2025. With the show's cast members Paget, Joe Mantegna, Zach Gilford, and plenty more all returning, folks want to know when the new installment will air on TV. While we still don't know the date, we did get an update about the season after Paget shared a message on X (formerly Twitter).
In a photo of her pointing to all the food sitting in her fridge, Paget seemingly inferred that she was done filming the latest season.
"Uh oh," she wrote in the caption on September 16. "Now that I’m done on @criminalminds, maybe I’m cooking too much?"
The choice of words made fans concerned that Criminal Minds: Evolution had gotten canceled or that Paget was leaving...
"This isn’t confirmation that you are done, done… right?" one person begged on X. "What do you mean, done? With the season? 🥲," another inquired. "Please tell me criminal minds didn’t end—," a different follower added.
Luckily, it seems like Paget was just referring to the end of filming Criminal Minds: Evolution season 4, given how her co-star Kirsten Vangsness has also been dropping hints about this. Earlier this month, Kirsten shared a video on Instagram during the final day of shooting the new season.
"Thank you @burritoslapalma for coming to my last day of @criminalminds this season 🤞🏼 and covering fake murder camp in your beautiful burritos, I love you.💜," she wrote in the caption at the time.
Now that the show has wrapped filming, post-production could take months. Since season 3 premiered in May 2025, we'll likely see this installment in May of next year.
