During our tests, the magnet held cans up to 32 ounces in place without help, and the one-touch auto shut-off feature worked well. The lever removes easily for cleaning and can be adjusted to cut from the top or the side. This model comes with a three-year limited warranty.
The Black and Decker EasyCut can opener works as well as most of the electric can openers we tested, especially for the price. While it felt lighter in weight than competitors, the magnet was able to hold up 32-ounce cans and the auto shut-off features worked well. One drawback is the bulky nature of the lever, which made it hard to see the blade when attaching the can.
Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch Electric Automatic Can Opener
This electric can opener from Hamilton Beach has an easy-to-use one touch lever for attaching cans. It's located on the back at the top, making it very sturdy and ergonomic to use. During our tests, we found that the placement of this lever helps prevent tipping forward. Unlike many of our electric can opener picks, it cuts from the side which minimizes food touching the metal and even works on pop-top cans. While it doesn't have the typical bottle opener, it does have a knife sharpener and comes with a useful pair of scissors, which store neatly in the back. Our only criticism is it doesn't have an auto shut-off feature.

Proof that size isn't everything: This nifty battery-operated electric can opener from Kitchen Mama easily attached to every can we tested. Its side-cut left smooth sides on both the can and the lid, and it was the most user-friendly can opener we tested. This model has an aut0 shut-off feature, and you don't need to hold the tool while it opens the can. It was even able to open cans with dented lids. It requires 4 AA batteries, which you will need to purchase separately.
Oster's newest model has a wide base with a protruding lip foot to help prevent tipping. It comes with bottle opener, knife sharpener and has a retractable cord, with just a push of a button. The lever was easy to attach and remove, and it easily held up larger cans. It has an auto shut-off feature and left no spills when we opened cans.
