If you're up to speed on trendy brands, you've probably heard of Quince by now. If not, it's time to change that. The viral online retailer prides itself on offering luxury goods — think clothing made from silk, linen, leather, comfy cashmere and wool — at affordable price points (we're talking leather jackets for under $150!). Beyond clothes, Quince also offers a wide range of accessories (bags, jewelry, luggage) as well as home goods (bedding, window treatments, cookware).
As a gift guide editor who spends hours scouring the internet for the best products and deals, I was admittedly surprised by Quince's low prices. I was particularly intrigued by the brand's office-appropriate clothing for women, since work attire can be a serious investment. Any brand attempting to make an elevated work wardrobe more accessible is pretty cool, if you ask me.
But I had a lot of questions: Is Quince a trustworthy brand? Are Quince's products good quality? How are Quince's products so affordable? To find out, I checked in with our experts in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, who have tested many of the brand's goods, and I ordered a few of Quince's pieces for myself. Ahead, you'll find my list of the Quince products I think are worth buying.
What is Quince?
Quince is a direct-to-consumer brand launched in 2018 that specializes in luxury basics at affordable prices. One of the brand's main selling points is that it excels at variety — for offering such a broad range of products, there are an impressive number of styles in each category. On the Quince site you'll find a dizzying array of apparel, accessories and home goods, including the brand's recently launched lines of underwear, swimwear and coffee essentials. While the brand partners with factories around the world, the company is based in San Francisco.
Why are Quince's prices so low?
The brand claims that it's able to maintain its quality at low prices by working outside of the traditional supply chain and sourcing directly from manufacturers — effectively avoiding the added expenses of warehousing, wholesaling, distribution and more. While our Textiles Lab pros haven't been able to fully verify these claims through our evaluations, they have been impressed by the company's products and believe they are "worth it" overall.
