15 Best Bras for Small Breasts, Tested by Experts
These are the most comfortable bras for a small chest — whether you're looking for a push-up or wireless bralette.

We've been independently researching and testing products for over 120 years. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission. Learn more about our review process.
With more and more brands offering bras designed specifically for a small chest, finding the perfect bra that checks all of the boxes doesn't have to be as difficult as it once was. The list of criteria is long: It has to look great on, feel comfortable, not gape at the cups and have straps that stay in place and a band that doesn't ride up. Thoughtful design details like shallower cups, removable padding and narrower adjustable straps provide the support and shaping you need for the good fitting bra without unnecessary bulk.
At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we test all kinds of undergarments in our Textiles Lab and with our consumer testers — including shapewear, underwear and bras for large chests and more. Over the last few years, we've evaluated more than 200 bra styles from popular brands and shared the bras with more than 500 testers of all different shapes and sizes, helping us choose which bras are the best for small chested women, including small cup and band sizes.
Pros
Shallow, lightly lined cups for a natural shape
Breathable mesh detailing
No awkward gaping, according to AA–A cup size testers
Cons
Some testers found the straps to be less supportive with extensive use
Dubbed "life-changing" by our testers with AA and A cup sizes, Pepper's bras not only come in small sizes, but they actually fit. Pepper only designs bras for small busts, so you know it's not just a scaled-down version of a larger-sized bra.
The Classic All You bra is the brand's best-selling style, featuring shallow cups that are lightly lined for a nice shape without bulky padding. The chic and breathable mesh detailing is not attached at the top of the cups, eliminating extra stitching for a smoother look under clothes.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: When wearing Pepper bras, testers were impressed with the fit. One tester who wears an A cup shared, "Most bras I wear always leave empty gaps in between the cups while the band fits. But with this bra, my boobs were covered and supported." This bra kept its shape during our stretch recovery tests in our Lab, but some testers noted that the straps weren't as supportive after extensive use.
Band sizes | 30—40 |
Cup sizes | AA–B |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, lightly lined shallow cups with mesh panel |
Pros
Gives shape without too much padding
Supportive and comfortable, according to testers
Straps adjust in the front
Cons
Some testers had to try multiple sizes to find the right fit
When we tested this lightly-lined underwire bra, it was especially loved by B-cup testers because it gave a nice shape without too much padding. In our Textiles Lab evaluations, it washed well without notable shrinkage or damage. It's also equipped with clever features like straps that adjust in the front (genius!), a crossover front gore for a better, closer fit and a hook that converts the bra to a racerback style.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Testers rated the bra as both supportive and comfortable, and one even said it was the softest bra she'd ever tried. Another shared, "It was silky smooth and very comfortable to wear even in hot weather." A B-cup tester reported, "This bra was very supportive in all the right ways. It did so without putting strain on my back as well."
Some testers had to try a few sizes to find their best fit, but this brand offers free returns so it's easy to try a variety of sizes to find your perfect bra.
Band sizes | 32–44 |
Cup sizes | A–DDD/F |
Style notes | Underwire, front adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, lightly lined cups, convertible design |
Pros
Kept its shape after being stretched
Lightweight design
Proved durable in Textiles Lab tests
Cons
Not a great option for people with a smaller cup size and larger band size
Despite being one of the least expensive bras in our recent bra test, this everyday style from Hanes was a top performer. It completely recovered its shape after being stretched out in the Textiles Lab, and it washed well with hardly any shrinkage or visible wear.
While it looks more like a bralette, it has adjustable, convertible straps and a hook-eye closure in the back like a standard bra. The foam cups give a nice shape for smaller cup sizes, and there are no underwires that poke and prod. We love the mesh details for a more breathable, comfortable feel.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Our testers said it was comfortable and surprisingly supportive for not having an underwire. They also were impressed by how lightweight it felt, and one even said she forgot she was wearing a bra. This style is sold in S/M/L sizing, which means it can be harder to find the right fit for people who have a smaller cup size and a larger band size.
Sizes | S–3XL (covers sizes 34A to 50C) |
Style notes | Wireless, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, lightly lined foam cups, convertible design, mesh inserts |
Pros
Silky smooth fabric
Tester-favorite style
Wider straps don't dig in
Cons
Some testers found they got deodorant on the bra because of its pullover design
The silky soft feel of this Everlane bra sets it apart from other bras we've tested. The plunge cut and triangle cups offer great support for smaller bust sizes (though likely not enough coverage for larger busts). We love the longline design and that the straps are wide for support and don't dig in but they can still be adjusted in the back for the best fit.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: "This bra is so smooth and lightweight," reported one satisfied tester who added, "The silky, smooth fabric feels amazing on your skin. It's buttery soft, so I completely forget I am wearing it."
Because the bra pulls over your head with no back clasps, some testers found that they got deodorant on the bra more often, but overall, the bra was well received and earned top marks for comfort, support and fit. Multiple testers declared it their "new favorite bra."
Sizes | XXS–XXL (covers sizes 30AA to 40D) |
Style notes | Wireless, adjustable straps, pull-on design, unlined |
Pros
Designed specifically for small busts
Soft and stretchy material
Removable padded cups for customizable coverage
Cons
May show some stitching under a tight shirt
This Pepper bra offers support and coverage without a stiff underwire. It's made with soft and stretchy material that our testers described as "silk-like" and features adjustable straps with a hook-eye closure for a more secure feel. Plus, the padding for the cups is removable, allowing you to customize the amount of coverage the bra gives.
While it's available in sizes XXS to XL, it's not standard sizing. The bra is specifically designed to fit smaller cup sizes, accommodating traditional bra sizes 30A through 40B, so if you have a larger band measurement, you won't have to worry about too-big cups.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: One A-cup tester described the bra as "extremely comfortable to the point of not feeling it," and a B-cup tester said she "highly recommends this bra." We found that the bra can be worn discreetly under most clothing, thanks to the scoop neckline, though some testers pointed out that the thicker stitching on the bra was visible through more fitted tops.

Sizes | XXS–XL (covers sizes 30A to 40A) |
Style notes | Wireless, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, removable padded cups, mesh gore |
Pros
Removable padding
Stretch cotton material for comfort
Helpful quiz to find the right fit
Cons
Some online reviewers said it runs tight
Bras with wide band sizes and small cups are difficult to come by, but Lulalu has you covered — the T-shirt bra is available in cup sizes AAA to A and band sizes 30 to 42, and there's even a quiz to help you find your perfect fit. Know that the brand does often run low on inventory, so you may not be able to find the exact size you're looking for.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: We appreciate the removable inserts, so you can adjust the level of padding, and we love that the foam cups are molded to maintain their shape. The cotton and Lycra blend fabric feels lightweight and comfortable. Online reviewers said the bra is "smooth and flattering," and they're grateful to have found a brand with bras that actually fits small cups, but there are some reviewers who said the band runs tight.
Band sizes | 30–42 |
Cup sizes | AAA–A |
Style notes | Wireless, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, unlined cups with removable padding |
Pros
Smooth material
Adds up to one cup size of fullness
Convertible straps
Cons
Some testers struggled to find the right size
If you're hoping to boost your cleavage, a properly fitted bra that supports your natural shape is key, but adding some extra push-up padding can really enhance your chest. This Victoria's Secret Pink push-up bra is one of the few push-up styles we've evaluated that's available in AA cup sizes. It's designed with padded cups that add up to one additional cup size of fullness for a super lifted look. In addition to the padding, the bra straps are adjustable and can be converted to a cross-back style for even more lift.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: GH analysts who have worn this style say the underwire bra is supportive yet comfortable, and they especially love the smooth material option, describing it as "silky and soft." Our testers who have worn other bras from VS Pink share that the bras stay in place without riding up, but have noted that they've had to size up because the brand's bras run small.
In Textiles Lab tests, VS Pink bras recovered to their original shape after being stretched, and they performed well in the wash with only minor shrinkage.
Band sizes | 30–44 |
Cup sizes | AA–G |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, structured cups with push-up padding, convertible design |
Pros
Eight nude color options
Molded demi cups for a natural look
Great range of band sizes with small cup sizes
Cons
Some testers said underwire felt uncomfortable
Perfect for daily wear, a nude bra is easy to hide under all kinds of clothing for a seamless look, but it can be difficult to find the just right shade of nude that actually matches your skin tone, especially since most bra brands only offer one or two "nude" shades. Skims offers a whopping eight nudes to choose from to suit a variety of skin tones, along with some limited edition colors.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Our testers appreciated that the bra accommodates both those with larger band sizes and smaller cups and those with larger cups and smaller band sizes. The T-shirt-style bra has molded demi cups and minimal padding for a natural look that lies flat against the chest without gaping.
Testers loved the soft material and shared that it didn't cling to their shirts, but some testers felt like the underwire extended too far backward into their armpits, causing it to dig in.
Band sizes | 30–46 |
Cup sizes | A–H |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, molded lightly lined cups |
Pros
Buttery soft material
Plenty of hooks in the back for best fit
Performed will for stretch recovery
Cons
Full-coverage look may peek out of low-cut tops
This Aerie lightly lined bra earned top marks from our testers for appearance and support, and the lightly lined cups made it a favorite. Thanks to the full-coverage design, you won't have to worry about nip slips, but the top of the bra may peek out of low-cut tops. It performed well in our stretch recovery tests, maintaining its original shape, and the material looks great after washing.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: A Textiles Lab analyst only wears Aerie's Sunnie bras and says every style she has tried is comfortable, and she especially loves wearing this one under tees and work blouses because it provides plenty of coverage and support.
Our testers who tried a version of this bra with lace details were impressed by the smooth Sunnie material. One shared, "I absolutely love the feel of this bra's fabric. It glides on like butter and is super soft! The sleekness of the fabric also allows for the satiny straps to be adjusted more easily."
A B-cup tester appreciated the four hooks in the back and shared, "I like that the strap in the back is thicker with more hooks, feels more supportive."
Band sizes | 30–42 |
Cup sizes | AA–DD |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, lightly lined full-coverage cups |
Pros
Unique hosiery-like material
No underwire
Extremely comfortable feel
Cons
Straps are wide and not adjustable
Spanx's Bra-Llelujah collection uses a smooth hosiery-like material for the straps and back that feels super comfortable and doesn't dig in. Plus, it provides the smoothing effect that Spanx is known for, with a thicker band shaping the underarms and back to prevent unwanted bulging.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: The brand's full-coverage bra is a favorite among our larger-cup testers (and it's also available in A and B cups if you're looking for a bra with more support), but this pullover version is more minimal with no underwire. Just note that the straps are a bit wide, and they didn't keep their shape quite as well as other styles in our stretch recovery tests.
Still, we appreciate the unique material that lies flat and feels comfy while offering support. An online reviewer shared, "It literally feels like you are wearing nothing. It is not tight on my body but lifts and supports."

Flat mesh-lace design
Removable padding
Cons
Brand says the band runs tight
The Little Bra Company specializes in bras for petite frames, and the Sascha bra is a good pick for those with a small cup size and small band. It's convertible, which means it can be adjusted to be worn in strapless, standard, racerback, one-shoulder and halter styles.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Testers were impressed by the small inner pocket that allows you to easily adjust the level of padding in the bra — just pull the padded fill out for less lift. Most lace materials are textured and visible under clothing, but we love that this bra is designed with flat lace, so it looks more seamless under tight tops.
Online reviewers and the brand said the band runs tight, so keep that in mind when choosing your size — you might want to size up.

Pros
Testers loved the support
Secure fit
Users said it looks great after washing
Cons
Some online reviewers had difficulty finding the right size
With adjustable straps, a breathable mesh band and hook-eye back closure, this bra from Parade may seem like a regular bra, but it doesn't have a stiff underwire or bulky padding. Most importantly, according to users, it's super comfortable.
We love that it's made from recycled nylon that has a smooth and silky feel. The deep-V neckline makes it easy to wear under low-cut tops, and this newer iteration of the classic bra is smooth without any darts, so it's not as noticeable through tight tops.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Our testers loved the level of support it offered, including one A-cup user who shared that she was shocked by how supportive the bra felt. She explained, "It almost reminds me of how a sports bra fits: It hugs you and makes you feel like you won't bounce."
Users who have washed it said that it doesn't pill or look misshapen after laundering. Because the bra is available in standard sizing (XS–3XL), some online reviewers had a tough time finding the perfect fit, so we recommend consulting the size chart before adding to cart.
Sizes | XS–3XL (covers 32A to 44D |
Style notes | Wireless, adjustable straps, hook-eye closure, unlined cups, mesh panels |
Pros
Top marks in consumer tests for comfort and fit
Didn't shrink in Lab evaluations
Comes in half sizes
Cons
Some testers said it looked misshapen after laundering at home
If you constantly feel like you can't find the right size, ThirdLove offers unique half-cup sizes, like "A 1/2" for those between A and B. The brand recommends taking a quick quiz to find your best style and size, but this T-shirt bra is its best seller. It's pricey, but the site offers free return shipping so you can try on multiple sizes at home to find the right fit.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: The bra received near-perfect scores across the board in our consumer test with top marks for fit, comfort, support and appearance. Our testers with small cup sizes liked how this style provided a nice shape without too much padding.
One A-cup tester said she typically purchases push-up bras for some lift, but didn't feel that she needed the extra lift with this one because of its supportive shape. She also commented on how comfortable the fabric was and said, "It lays smoothly under clothing." In the Lab, it held up during our wash cycles and didn't shrink at all, but some consumer testers said it looked a little misshapen after laundering.
Band sizes | 32–44 |
Cup sizes | A–H |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable pleated straps, hook-eye closure, molded foam cups |
Pros
Chic gold hardware
Straps and underwire do not dig in
Scoop neckline
Cons
Some users said band runs tight
Designed without padding or lining, this mesh bra from Cuup is ideal for anyone who prefers a natural shape without excess material or bulk. You're able to wear the bra under low-cut tops and dresses, thanks to the scoop neckline, and the flat straps with chic gold hardware sit comfortably on shoulders without digging in. We love that it's available in more than a dozen colors, including everyday neutrals and fun bright hues like teal, hot pink and orange.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: The bra is offered in a wide range of cup and band sizes, but our testers with small busts especially loved the bra, sharing that it felt comfortable to wear and stayed in place all day long. Though there's no lining or padding, the bra is still equipped with an underwire that lies flat against the chest, and our testers said it didn't poke or prod. Some testers felt like the band was a bit tight, so you may want to consider sizing up for a more comfortable fit.
Band sizes | 30–50 |
Cup sizes | A–H |
Style notes | Underwire, adjustable pleated straps, hook-eye closure, molded foam cups |
Pros
X-back helps keep straps from sliding off
Held up well in washability tests
Testers said it was supportive
Cons
A few testers said the wire dug in a bit
Perfect for anyone who struggles to put on a bra, this one's designed with an easy-to-use front closure and front strap adjustment, so you don't have to reach around your back, and you can easily slide the straps to achieve the perfect fit. An X-shaped back keeps the straps in place so they don't slide off shoulders.
WHAT TESTERS SAY: Our testers with small cup sizes said that despite the shallower cup design, the bra held everything in well without bulging or slippage. Most testers rated the bra highly for comfort, but a few testers said the underwire dug in a bit. Still, they gave the bra good scores for support and noted that it looks great under clothing.
In our Textiles Lab washability tests, there was no notable shrinkage and no signs of wear post-wash.

How we test bras for small breasts

In the Textiles Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute, we regularly test all types of undergarments including shapewear, underwear and bras of all kinds. We've evaluated more than 200 styles of bras in recent years in the Lab and with more than 500 consumer testers ranging in size from AA–H cups and 30–48 band sizes. We used this information to determine our top bra picks.
Here's some insight into how we review each style:

✔️ Stretch: A good bra should conform to your body but shouldn't lose its stretch over time, so we run a standardized test to measure how well a bra maintains its shape. The fabric is marked and stretched to a standard length for a set period of time and is then released and measured again to determine how well the fabric returns to its initial shape.
✔️ Washability: We wash bras repeatedly to determine how well they hold up to regular laundering, focusing on properties like appearance and shrinkage post-wash.

✔️ Wear: We have hundreds of real users try on and wear the bras. Consumers with a wide range of band and cup sizes participate in our tests for more inclusive results, wearing the bras and rating characteristics such as comfort level, support, ease of putting on/taking off the bra, visibility under clothing and how well the bra stays in place during use.
What to look for when shopping for the best bras for small breasts

Before you buy another bra, here are a few things you can consider:
✔️ Sizing: Each brand's sizing is a little different, so even after you've determined your best cup and band size, it's still a good idea to consult the brand's size chart or chat with a fit expert for input. To determine if a bra fits properly, examine the cups, band and straps. There shouldn't be any gapping or overflow in the cups, the band should lie flat against your breast bone and the straps should stay in place without digging in.
✔️ Underwires: Underwires are small plastic or metal wires that run along the base of a bra's cup and are used for structure and lift. They're not necessary, but they can provide extra support depending on what you're looking for.
✔️ Padding: Padding helps to shape your chest and can also provide some coverage. A lightly lined bra has minimal padding but can conceal your nipples, while a push-up bra will have extra padding at the bottom and sides of the cup to lift your breasts up and in for a fuller look.
✔️ Straps: Adjustable straps, designed with a slider to easily lengthen or shorten them for the best fit, are a common feature of bras. Most sliders are located on the back of bra straps, but some bras are designed with the slider in the front of the bra for easy adjustment. Wider straps tend to be more comfortable and supportive but often peak out of clothing, while thinner straps are easier to conceal but may dig into your shoulders. Convertible straps are great because they allow the bra to be worn in different styles — strapless, standard straps, one-shoulder, racerback, halter and more.
✔️ Closure: Most bras are designed with a hook-and-eye clasp on the back of the band, though some bras feature front clasps for easier closure and a smoother look. Not every bra has a closure, though: Some bras are designed to be slipped on over your head instead. Choose whichever best suits your needs.
