Everyone tells you about the endless diaper changes and incredible developmental milestones, but no one prepares you for the sheer amount of meal prep that little ones need on top of feeding ourselves. From those first few bites to figuring out what's for dinner after soccer practice, it can be a full-time job keeping up with serving delicious, balanced meals to the kiddos and the entire family (not to mention appeasing picky eaters).

That's where meal delivery services come in, and they aren't just for adults; in fact, many options are now catering to infants, toddlers, older kids and the whole family. Kid meal delivery kits provide nutritious meals that are typically already prepared and ready to serve. Not only do they help take the stress off of meal prep for parents, but they provide a great way to introduce your child to new foods that may not be in their normal repertoire.

The growing volume of services can make it difficult to figure out which options are best for your child and family. That's why the food and nutrition experts in the Good Housekeeping Institute conducted a three-month long meal delivery services study with over 280 real-life home chefs just like you. For this test, we evaluated over 40 services over the course of three months, including traditional meal kits, healthy meal delivery services, semi-prepared options and fully prepared ready-to-eat meals delivered to your door. Testers included tons of families and kids nationwide to help us determine the most kid-friendly options. These are the best kids meal delivery services of 2022.

Our top picks:

You can learn more about how we test meal delivery services — including tips for finding the best service for you and your child — at the end of this guide. How we test the best kids meal delivery services

linebreak

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we test all different types of food products and services. From healthy snacks and supplements to food subscription boxes and meal delivery, our experts are committed to bringing you the best of the best when it comes to quality, performance, flavor, nutrition and more.

In our meal delivery services study, we recruited over 280 at-home testers across the nation along with our in-house experts. We evaluated over 40 different meal delivery services, ranging from traditional kits that come with pre-measured ingredients and a follow-along recipe card to fully prepared options. We tested the services over the course of three months.

When evaluating services for children and families, we looked at overall satisfaction, food quality, selection, nutrition profiles, cost, recycling efforts and availability. Our top picks don't sacrifice quality and take the guesswork out of meal prep for parents, but still keep kid-friendly meals fun. Although taste is subjective, we chose companies that scored high points overall with testers (especially picky eaters!). We also made a point to include options on this list for children of all ages, from infants who are taking their first bites to older kids living active lifestyles.

Stefani Sassos

When selecting the best kids meal delivery service for you and your family, you'll want to first consider cost and make sure that it fits into your budget. You'll typically get a better price per meal if you order more through whichever service you choose.

For parents who need guidance introducing their infant to solid foods, Yumi is a great choice. Toddlers or those doing baby-led weaning may find that Tiny Organics is a better fit for them. If you want an interactive experience where school age kids can help prepare dinner with you, One Potato could be the option for you. You'll also want to take into account any dietary preferences or restrictions that your child may have and make sure that whichever service you choose can accommodate for that. Our experts also urge parents to reconsider frozen options, as they have a longer shelf life and can oftentimes lock in key nutrients.
