Healthy smoothies are a quick and convenient way to fuel up, but buying all the ingredients or paying for expensive blends at smoothie bars can be a hassle. Smoothie subscription services simplify the process, delivering pre-portioned, nutrient-packed options directly to your door. Choose from ready-to-blend frozen ingredients, fully premade smoothies or convenient powdered packets. These services are typically more affordable per serving than smoothie shops, making it easier to enjoy healthy options without extra effort.

The registered dietitians at the Good Housekeeping Institute selected the best smoothie delivery services based on variety, flavor and nutritional quality. From refreshing fruits and leafy greens to protein-packed blends, these options offer something for everyone. For a more balanced drink, consider adding a scoop of one of our top-tested protein powders.

Revive Superfoods

Pros

  • Nutritious, curated blends
  • Comes in pre-portioned cups
  • Many flavor options available

Cons

  • Requires a blender

Solely dedicated to smoothies and açai bowls, Revive Superfoods offers a nice variety of fruit- and veggie-forward blends that are all crafted by chefs for delicious (and nutritious) flavor combinations.

How it works: Smoothies come frozen in pre-portioned cups. Just add a liquid of your choice and blend in your household blender. You can also repurpose the cup since it has a slot for a straw, perfect for sipping on the go. Smoothie categories include:

  • High-Protein Blends: Protein-rich shakes with up to 34 grams of protein per serving.
  • Wellness Blends: Packed with ingredients to support healthy skin, immunity and gut health.
  • Weight Management Blends: Light and nutritious smoothies with 120–140 calories per serving.
  • Energizing Blends: Smoothies made with energy-boosting ingredients like coffee, maca and matcha.
  • Healthy Indulgence Blends: Delicious smoothies made without added sugars or preservatives.

Test results: We found that Revive delivers high-quality smoothie blends made with incredibly nutrient-dense ingredients that are smoothie-shop-quality for a fraction of the price. The smoothies aren't fully premade and do require blending, but the reusable cup is super convenient and well thought-out. Our dietitians also appreciate that the ingredients are flash-frozen at peak ripeness to optimize nutrients and flavor. The Get Active blends were also a welcome offering with up to 34 grams of protein per serving since most smoothie subscription services are lacking in the protein department.

CostStarting at $8.99 per smoothie.

Kencko

Kencko

Pros

  • Instant smoothie packets are convenient and affordable
  • Each packet contains 2.5 servings of produce
  • No blender required

Cons

  • Not as satiating as other services

Kencko means "healthy" in Japanese, which is a core pillar of the Certified B Corp's mission. The brand flash-freezes organic, non-GMO produce at peak ripeness and then dries fruits and veggies at low temperatures to create these shelf-stable smoothie packets.

How it works: Select from a variety of smoothie flavors that come in shelf-stable instant smoothie packets. Each smoothie only utilizes fruits, vegetables, seeds and spices. Pour your liquid of choice into the brand's shaker bottle or a household glass, then add the smoothie packet and shake or mix vigorously for several seconds to combine.

Test results: Our nutrition pros point out that each Kencko smoothie contains 2.5 servings of freeze-dried organic fruits and veggies, with no added fillers or additives. At only 80 calories per packet, they are more of a snack and are not designed to replace a meal. The slow-heat process removes the water from the produce but still retains all of the fiber and macronutrients as well as the majority of the vitamins and minerals, keeping the packets nutrient-dense.

We also loved their protein smoothie packs, offering a satisfying 13oz serving with 11g of plant-based protein. They blend perfectly in a protein shaker or your favorite blender. Our favorite blends included flavors like Peaches, Blushes, Beet Reds and Sunny Guavas. We found that massaging the packet before adding it to the liquid helped to reduce any clumps. At under $3 per packet, this choice is also one of the most affordable and portable smoothie delivery options on the market.

CostAround $2.74 per instant smoothie packet.

Best Premade

Splendid Spoon

Splendid Spoon

Pros

  • Over 20 different vegan smoothies to choose from
  • Smoothies come premade, no blender required
  • Shots and juices also available

Cons

  • Some smoothies have multiple servings per bottle

One of our favorite plant-based meal delivery services, Splendid Spoon offers over 50 ready-to-eat meals including smoothies, soups, grain bowls, noodle bowls and more. Everything is 100% plant-based and free of gluten, dairy and artificial sugar.

How it works: Crafted by chefs and registered dietitians, Splendid Spoon's menu features a substantial assortment of premade smoothies that are all vegan and nutritious. There are over 20 different smoothie flavors including Chocolate Cherry, Raspberry Cacao, Power Greens, Blue Majik and more. Cacao Almond was a staff favorite. The brand also offers immune-supporting shots and a variety of plant-powered juices.

Test results: Not only are the smoothies premade and super convenient, but testers found them incredibly fresh and tasty. Our pros like that the smoothies and shots are high-pressure processed, meaning that the bottles are pressurized at cold temperatures to destroy potentially harmful pathogens and maintain the nutritional profile of the raw ingredients. "The smoothies were creative and tasty and contained things that I would never have thought to try. Same with the soups," a tester said. Our experts noticed some products were lower in protein compared to other services. Also, keep in mind that some smoothies have multiple servings per bottle.

Daily Harvest

Daily Harvest

Pros

  • Over 25 flavors to choose from
  • Comes in pre-portioned cups
  • Flash-frozen for quality and taste

Cons

  • Requires a blender

Daily Harvest makes a variety of vegan smoothies, harvest bowls, soups, flatbreads, pastas and more. The brand boasts an impressive nutrient-dense selection of smoothies, and they are some of Daily Harvest's most popular items.

How it works: Pick from over 25 different smoothie flavors ranging from Vanilla Bean Protein which uses ingredients like organic chickpeas and dates, to Ginger + Greens. Smoothies come frozen in pre-measured cups — just add to your household blender along with your liquid of choice and blend for a refreshing sip. You can pour the blended smoothie into your own cup or repurpose the cup the ingredients were packed in since it has a slot for a straw. Boxes can be delivered weekly or monthly.

Test results: The unique flavor combinations are what really stood out to our pros — you'll find innovative blends with nutritionally supercharged ingredients including flaxseed, dragon fruit, cashews, spirulina, cacao, maca and more. Pros

  • 24/7 access to a dietitian at an additional cost
  • Made from organic, whole-food ingredients
  • Can customize smoothie based on your dietary preference

Cons

  • Some flavors are lower in protein compared to other services

Bumpin Blends, created by a dietitian, focuses on making nutrition approachable for women at every stage of life. Each packet includes six frozen smoothie cubes made from organic, whole-food ingredients. With no added sugars, artificial flavors or preservatives, these blends are designed to address specific wellness needs, including boosting energy, improving mood and supporting skin health.

How it works: Each smoothie comes pre-portioned into six frozen cubes, making it easy to blend a 16-ounce smoothie or two 8-ounce servings. Customers can access a 24/7 hotline for personalized tips and advice from a dietitian. Orders arrive in compostable coolers or reusable ones for Los Angeles customers. With over 20 flavors, customers can create custom bundles or opt for the "One Time Mom Bundle" with up to 28 blends.

Test results: Our nutrition experts praised Bumpin Blends for its nutrient-rich flavors like Cinnamon Chai and Green Mango, packed with organic ingredients such as peaches, chia seeds and Greek yogurt. Functional additions like maca root and ginger target benefits like energy, digestion and skin health.

The ability to filter blends by dietary needs (e.g., vegan, nut-free) and health benefits (e.g., digestion, inflammation) impressed our dietitians, offering a tailored experience, but they did note that some flavors had lower protein compared to other services. Experts also applauded the eco-friendly, compostable packaging and pre-portioned cubes, which reduce waste and prevent spoiled produce.

Smoothie Box

Smoothie Box

Pros

  • Nutrient-dense organic blends
  • Flash-frozen for quality and taste
  • Add-ons like protein powders and collagen available

Cons

  • Only six flavors to choose from

Curated specifically for smoothie lovers, this smoothie subscription box takes all the guesswork out of prep so you can prepare nutritionally-balanced and tasty smoothies in minutes.

How it works: Start by choosing from six different flavors which include mango, berry, strawberry banana, green, chocolate and orange. You can add boosters as well such as grass-fed collagen, whey protein, vegan protein powder and greens powder to supercharge your smoothie. Smoothies come frozen with two servings in each pouch — just add to a blender with your liquid of choice and blend until smooth.

Test results: Since the ingredients are flash frozen, the nutrients and flavor are locked in fresh from the farm. Our dietitians were impressed with the organic high-quality blends — for instance, the berry blend contains a mix of berries, as well as cauliflower and sweet potato, for a produce-packed experience complimented by raw hemp seeds for essential fatty acids. A large portion of the ingredients are organic. Although the blends are nutritionally balanced, we wish that the brand offered more than six flavors.

Best Meal Kit with Smoothies

Factor

Factor
Credit: Factor

Pros

  • Premade and convenient
  • Smoothie variety pack available as an add-on
  • Vegan and carb-conscious flavors

Cons

  • Limited selection available

One of our favorite prepared meal delivery services, Factor caters to carb-conscious folks with its dietitian-designed fresh meals and add-ons.

How it works: Choose from over 30 fully prepared meals each week, and then purchase smoothies as an add-on. Factor's premade smoothie variety pack contains two smoothies each of the strawberry banana, tropical fruit and mango flavors. Not only are the smoothies already prepared but they are also vegan and carb-conscious. Factor also offers a ready-to-blend smoothie line made with high-quality ingredients and tropical flavors.

Test results: Although the service is not dedicated to smoothies, it's nice to have the option to add smoothies to your standard meal delivery order every week. They are surprisingly tasty and made with coconut milk for a creamy plant-based base. We wish they had a bit more protein, but they make the perfect snack when on the go. Our experts also note that it contains monk fruit for sweetness which some may not prefer. Testers appreciated that the smoothies were low in sugar and carbs.

Editor's Note: The U.S. Department of Labor is investigating HelloFresh and hiring agency Midway Staffing over claims that migrant children were working at a Factor facility in Illinois. "We were deeply troubled to learn of the allegations made against a former temporary staffing agency, Midway Staffing,” a HelloFresh spokesperson told Good Housekeeping. “As soon as we learned of these allegations, we immediately terminated the relationship. We have strict protocols in place to ensure all vendors follow our robust global ethics and compliance policies. We have zero tolerance for any form of child labor, and we have taken action to ensure no minors perform work in or have access to our facilities.” RJ Parrilli, CEO of Midway Staffing, also told Good Housekeeping, “Midway Staffing continues to cooperate with the Department in its ongoing investigation. Midway Staffing denies that its actions or practices contributed to or caused any alleged child labor violations. Midway Staffing’s business and legal compliance practices strive to follow all applicable laws and industry standards. "

What to look for when selecting the best smoothie subscription

double line break

Choosing the right smoothie service can feel overwhelming with so many options out there, but focusing on what matters most to your lifestyle can help narrow it down. Consider these key factors to find a service that fits your needs, preferences and budget.

✔️ Type: Do you want smoothies that are fully premade and already bottled? Would you prefer frozen pouches or containers that have all of the ingredients you need to just simply add to a blender? Perhaps a powdered smoothie option is better for your lifestyle and more convenient.

✔️ Dietary preferences: Although most smoothie services offer vegan and gluten-free options, check to see if the service accommodates any other dietary preferences you may have such as low-carb or high-protein. Most premade smoothies tend to lack significant amounts of protein, so consider adding protein powder for a boost.

✔️ Quantity: Are you making smoothies just for yourself, or do you need to prepare them for a large family? Some brands offer multiple serving sizes per pouch or offer family-style blends for larger crowds.

✔️ Cost: Smoothie subscription services tend to be cheaper than buying a smoothie out at a local shop but can be more expensive per serving than buying the ingredients yourself. Look for an option that feels like a happy medium. Many brands also offer discounts on your first order or when you refer a friend. Check for special discounts for first responders, teachers and more.

✔️ Delivery range: Double-check to make sure that the service ships to your area. Most smoothie subscription services will offer free shipping over a certain order amount.

What are the health benefits of smoothies?

double line break

Smoothies can be a fantastic vehicle for incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet and meeting your daily produce needs. Recent studies have shown the health benefits of switching to a plant-based diet, including a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. Since produce is rich in vitamins and minerals, you'll find a plethora of antioxidants and nutritious benefits in most smoothie blends. Plus, fruits and veggies are largely composed of water so smoothies can also be incredibly hydrating.

Is it okay to have a smoothie every day?

double line break

This ultimately depends on what is in your smoothie. As long as the blend contains some protein and isn't loaded with sugar, it can be a convenient and healthy breakfast option that allows you to pack in a variety of nutrient-dense foods. Try to avoid added sugars in your smoothies as well. If the blends you choose don't have a ton of protein, consider adding a protein boost such as a few spoonfuls of hemp seeds, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or your favorite vegan protein powder.
