A powder puff is a classic makeup applicator that “makes powder *not* look powdery,” Brown captioned an Instagram post (in collaboration with her brand, Jones Road Beauty), promoting the tool. Its soft, wide surface area distributes powder thinly, evenly, and quickly to avoid the dreaded appearance of caked-on, thick makeup that settles into fine lines and emphasizes texture. “Reduce shine, set your makeup, and look great in seconds,” the caption concluded. The pillowy face of the puff allows you to apply loose powder gently, yet precisely, so as not to disturb any makeup that may be underneath. Brown recommends pairing it with the Jones Road Beauty Tinted Face Powder to finish your look for one that is glowing, but not shiny or greasy.
According to the brand’s website, to use the tool, simply dip it into powder, tapping off any excess on the rim. Next, gently press it into your skin to set your makeup.
