Jamal Roberts has major music news to share, and it's something American Idol fans will definitely want to pay attention to!

It's been three months since the singer won season 23 of the hit competition series, and now fans are ready to hear some original tunes from Jamal. Well, he delivered an exciting announcement on Instagram when he revealed the debut of his newest single, "Mississippi." As a music video clip shared Jamal singing the tune and playing with who appeared to be his daughters Harmoni, Lyrik and Gianna, he also inquired how listeners felt about hearing his new song.

"My new single Mississippi is out now!!!" he wrote in the caption on July 25. "Stream, share it... tell me what you think!"

When fans realized Jamal had put out new music for them to enjoy, it didn't take long before they shared their honest opinions on the single on social media.

"Been on repeat for 5 hours now 🔥 I’m obsessed to say the least lol," one person penned in the comments. "I’m loving it! I can’t wait to hear the rest. You were born to sing! 😎🙌🏾," another declared. "Music to my ears 😍 I needed this 👏🏼 America needed you 🙏🏽💪🏼💙🫶🏽," a different follower added.

Well, this is definitely something we need to listen to for ourselves! What's more, Jamal broke down what "Mississippi" means to him when he spoke with Billboard ahead of the single's release.

"I love Mississippi. People try to get me to move, but it’s just so peaceful and just so down to earth," he told the outlet. "I wanted to paint a picture of what I miss and what I’ve come from and that what I do currently in Mississippi that gives me that ease and that peace of mind. And in the song, if you listen closely, you’ll hear how I feel."
