Since May 2, 1885, Good Housekeeping has been the go-to destination for reliable cleaning advice, home decor inspiration, triple-tested recipes, trusted product recommendations and so much more.

Throughout the brand's history, the Good Housekeeping Seal has helped millions make smart and informed purchasing decisions based on quality research and scientific testing from the world-famous Good Housekeeping Institute. Our readers know that if they pick up a product with the Good Housekeeping Seal on it, all promises advertised have been rigorously tested by our scientists and the product can be trusted to perform.

On October 8, we celebrated the 115th anniversary of the Good Housekeeping Seal emblem with editors, scientists, influencers and a few lucky readers at Hearst Tower in New York City. Notably, the event featured an interview with our Editor-in-Chief and Hearst Lifestyle Group Editorial Director Jane Francisco, and a special appearance from Today show star Al Roker.

    Al Roker's Cookbook Signing Event

The NBC weather anchor got the party started with a meet-and-greet and signing event for his new cookbook Recipes to Live By, which he co-wrote with his oldest daughter, Courtney Roker Laga.

Jane Francisco Interview with GMA's Lori Bergamotto

Jane kicked off a three-course sit-down lunch — which included Good Housekeeping’s famous popovers recipe. She was joined by Good Morning America Lifestyle Contributor and former Good Housekeeping Style Director Lori Bergamotto, who asked Jane about the history of the Seal, the rigorous testing that goes behind it and the Seal's limited warranty.

"One of the things that's so amazing about the Seal is that we actually have a warranty against every product that carries the Seal that has earned that," Jane explained. "That means the scientists, our Lab directors and the experts who analyze and rigorously test these products know that we, and Hearst, back them. So if you have a problem with any one of these products, you can call us. We actually have a person at the other end of the line and they will help you figure out what you need to fix the problem, and we will give you your money back."

    Lab Testing Demos

After lunch, guests got a behind-the-scenes look at how the Good Housekeeping Institute evaluates and tests products in all of our labs — from coupe glasses to stick vacuums. Guests tasted delicious, fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies from our Good Housekeeping Test Kitchen and even rocked some of the iconic lab coats our experts wear during testing for pictures in the photo booth.

After a day full of fun, guests were sent on their way, but not before receiving a GH Tested BÉIS weekender filled with products to take home and try.
