1Swipe mildew from the bathroom ceiling
Getty ImagesIf you live in a damp climate, chances are mildew is hiding somewhere in your house. Rather than getting out the ladder and washing high surfaces by hand, reach for your Swiffer: Just dampen the dry pad with a bleach-and-water solution to get the job done right.
2Prep your walls for paint
Getty ImagesThe sweeper's long arm makes wiping down everything from the baseboard to crown molding super easy. And while Swiffer dry cloths are great, Danielle Smith, owner of Detroit Maid, uses wet cloths for dustier spaces. With a clean surface, paint will dry smoother.

3Dust your car's nooks and crannies
Getty ImagesA Swiffer dry cloth is a flexible, grippy, dust-busting power tool, able to fit into awkward spaces or tight squeezes — basically anywhere your fingertips can go, but better. Use it to get rid of those Goldfish crumbs your kids manage to get everywhere.
4Find (and pick up) tiny metal objects
Getty ImagesIf you've ever dropped an earring, you know it's frustrating to get down and hunt for it — and it might get stuck in your vacuum later if you don't find it first. Yumi Sakugawa (the force behind Wonder How To's) suggests attaching a magnetic sheet (look in a craft store for the ones with adhesive on the back) to the bottom of your Swiffer mop to find a metal item in just a few passes.

5Make bathroom shelves gleam
Getty ImagesWipe down glass surfaces with a dry Swiffer cloth to remove the thin layer of dust that always seems to appear, suggests Maeve Richmond, founder and organizing coach at Maeve's Method.
6Clear cobwebs from corners
Nothing unravels the feeling of accomplishment after a day of cleaning like spotting an errant cobweb near the ceiling. Use a Swiffer to reach them in high corners (or other hard-to-reach spots blocked by furniture, like behind the couch or nightstands) without pulling out the stepladder. The pesky webs will cling to the dry cloth so they don't float onto your freshly vacuumed floor.

7Clear out your dryer's lint trap
Getty Images"Use a Swiffer sheet to clean the lint from your dryer," says Maria Vizzi, president of Indoor Environmental Solutions. "This prevents lint from getting into your dryer duct," which is an important way to prevent house fires. Rizzi also recommends using your sweeper to dust the hard-to-reach areas around your machine to further cut down on lint and dust.
8Help your fingers get into the corners of your bookshelf
Getty ImagesIf your home gathers dirt in all its nooks and crannies, Richmond recommends using your Swiffer to dig for dust. Just wrap the pad around your finger and run it along the edges of things like books and pictures frames for an instant face-lift.

9Give your plants a spruce
You might remember to dust your shelves and knick-knacks when they're looking a little dingy, but don't forget that house plants gather dust, too. "In the springtime, I place my plants in my bathtub for a good shower," says Richmond. "But month to month, I use a Swiffer pad to lightly wipe down dusty leaves and restore them to pristine health."
